I can't see a social house basher offering up much cash.

All, a bit vague at the moment.

It is. If we don't spend and others do no matter the amount. But hey we don't need a team just a stadium with our reserves will do.
Wake up mate we can't save our transfer budgets to pay for a stadium and hope we can get along.
The way FFP is if we want long term success we basically have to build a stadium and improve our commercial revenues to stay competitive let alone challenge for anything. There are two paths to the top, investment and building the stadium and bringing the revenues that come with it, and now that FFP has removed/limited investment, we have to take the short term pain to get the long term gain. Otherwise we sit here and stagnate and drop down the table as the likes of West Ham and Spurs get new stadiums and better commercial revenues and can pump money on money on money into their playing squads. Goodison will hold us back as others grow.

Do we have any idea how much this is all going to cost yet?

I think we need a degree of realism about just how game changing this might be. If we sell out every one of the extra 10,000 seats for each game of the season, we might be looking at perhaps £10m a season extra. Don't get me wrong, that kind of money is certainly not to be sniffed at, but it probably won't transform us in a major way.

That's a bit exaggerated. In fact, that may be an unadvisable tack.

Stop listening to people with bad advice and focus on the product: football, and you'll get the desired result. If the desired product is real estate or commercial space, you'll get a crap stadium.

Not that these varied interests can't be combined, but focus on the product and you should get what you want.

With respect, that is a somewhat blinkered view.
There are lots of eminently qualified people who have vast knowledge of how to design, site, fund, and provide the necessary infrastructure needed for a new stadium or any new development, be it shopping mall or whatever, and the club owe it to them selves as well as the fan base to consult with as many as possible to gain as many perspectives and suggestions before casting anything in stone.

WHP may well turn into a glorious new home for Everton FC - I sincerely hope it does, but the fact remains every single aspect of this potential development needs to be researched, costed and considered long and hard before proceeding.

Its the corporate facilities that are needed, not the seats for the average supporter.

I'm a bit sceptical about all this. Despite being a general fan of Kenwright this smacks of hot air to me. I just don't see how it's funded.

Social housing in Liverpool is barely worth a penny to a commercial developer. Even if you fill it with local council incentives and grants they can only go so far without breaking EU rules.

The only thing I can think of is a genuine investor/prospective purchaser has been identified and the stadium can be financed by new club funds.

Whatever if it does happen I just want a stadium that's unique and true to the clubs identity.
As in naming rights sold pay for half the build type thing? Call it the Singapore Airways Stadium for 25 years for 80 million, type thing?

Liverpool City Council & #EFC have announced their intention to consider a transformational regeneration opportunity at Walton Hall Park.

The devil will be in the detail so why is their no details ?

Nothing been said that was not said at the AGM.

At present none of the named partners have the dough to fund the it.

Still we are good at sending out press releases that say nothing.

...I'm no economic expert on these things, but as I understand it a move would invite investment. That might be a cloud cuckoo view if there is intransigence to sell, but it is a view regularly articulated.

I'm not arguing with a new ground would or could generate extra funds and we can't stay at goodison forever commercial wise but in my eyes saving what budgets we have to pay towards a stadium, wouldn't be good. I don't know how we could pay it,but not buying players short term or not would hurt us more.

For me 50K is excessive. 40K attendance is 80%. I dunno, I asked the question, and I don't have even close to an answer...I'm not living on the pulse of things being in America and all.

I have no doubt we could fill the odd derby/big game @ 50K...but that would be the exception to the rule.
Take in to account our restricted view seats then work out the % we seel each match day.

A decent stadium and facilities would certainly see an increase in matchday revenue, even bring new supporters in. I think we could easy average 45000 in a 50k stadium..

Yeah, let's just stay at Goodison for another 100 years, because not buying another Lescott, Arteta or Jagielka would hurt us more for the next century.
