New Everton Stadium

Just to push things on a little....

Liverpool Sound City, a 2-Day festival, held in May each year, has announced its lineup for 2017...

The key change? It's now at Clarence Dock and not Bramley Moore.

If there was ever a better Monday message... this is it!

...I seem to remember somebody posting this a month or so ago but I might be getting mixed up.

That has got to be one of the least aesthetically appealing stadiums from the outside in world football. Interior looks good though mate;)
Yeah, it's pretty grim. The ground level view is a bit better but still looks like a Yodel distribution centre.

Never quite understood the suggestion by Joe Anderson of a station at BM given the track doesn't go there (yet!). Before anyone puts me straight by saying a new line can just be built, go and find out the last time any railway lines were built in the city. These things don't happen overnight although it might be part of a long term vision for transport links for Liverpool Waters. A station on the existing Northern Line at Boundary Street would probably do the job in the short term, with a 5 minute walk down the hill to the Dock Road

Why isnt it?

Theres an awful lot that needs to be done around the area before the Stadium is built, transport links is one of those things, having a train station 5 mins away makes things easier.

Sorry poorly worded on my part.

In relation to BM how significant could it be? Is it near that location etc?!

There is an old railway route down to the docks which runs through tunnels. Boat Trains used to meet the liners at a dock station. Junction and tunnels start around Edge Hill. Believe they are blocked off but still there.

:) Probably. They are still there although the area around Waterloo Dock where they came out is built on I think. Its no nearer than Sandhills anyway. Be surprised if Network Rail and Mersey Rail allowed another station at Boundary St which is only a few hundred metres from Sandhills.

The other line to Bootle Docks is still open for freight and once upon a time Canada Dock also had its own station off that route. Still none closer than Sandhills I suppose.
