If that Reuters article is correct, then we are effectively looking at spending 150 million pound just to increase our capacity by 5000. I therefore think the main objective behind the project is to make us more attractive to a potential new owner. Otherwise, I honestly think we would be better off spending the money on squad improvement and adding more corporate provision to the Park End.
Finding a new owner with deep pockets is not quite as desirable as it once was due to FFP restrictions. Therefore any naming rights deal would ideally belong to a company or organisation that is associated with the new owner, so that they can pay an excessive amount in order to get around FFP restrictions.
