New Everton Stadium

Can't see why Liverpool would be selected for CG as it has no athletic facilities at all. Don't think the running track at Wavertree would be enough to support a proper bid!! So unless LCC have put forward a bid with a guaranteed stadium facility (the new EFC stadium?) why would it be selected??

I was in Birmingham a few weeks back, chatting to a colleague and he said they have got quite a few people from the team that won the London 2012 Olympic bid sorting the proposal.

Think they will be the clear favourite's.
If Birmingham bid they should get it. They have an athletics stadium and the NIA that hosts indoor athletics already.

I think Swansea have got permission to expand their complete new build but are waiting to see if they drop.

That's the kind of flat-pack stadium that was built to a bland design and no doubt for limited cost. Think Southampton, Derby, Boro etc where it's feasible to add on another tier almost painlessly to the existing structure like Sunderland and Cardiff have.

I think there's a difference between that standard of stadia when it comes to expansion than the likes of new builds like The Emirates, new WHL, new Chelsea etc.

Longest article ever...won't fit to copy and paste.

From Toffee web A Place to Call Home With Farhad Moshiri greasing the wheels, it feels as though Everton are closer than ever to leaving Goodison Park after 125 years for a new stadium. It's a massive undertaking fraught with risk but at the right location and with the right design, it could be the awakening of English football's sleeping giant.

Brilliant article. Lyndon is probably the best Everton scribe out there and proves it again with this piece. Always surprises me when fans write it off because its Toffeeweb.. I'll let that drop there.

Basically the piece is through thorough research and some very interesting lessons taken from teams moving grounds.. it is a blueprint for exactly what we as Everton need and deserve. It is such a critical decision I hope its made with the club first, second and third.
