New Everton Stadium

The Green peace argument I think would be valid HAD the RS built on Stanley park, for years now that park was written off but is now back unbuilt on so say half of Walton hall park being built on surely won't be a problem.

I think the club/council really need to highlight the importance of football to this city and the need for both clubs to be progressing in terms of stadia.
If people want to keep it green, they could always pony up for whatever it would cost to renovate Goodison.

I do hope that acoustics are considered heavily in the design. Don't want to lose a snarling Goodison, as rare as it may be these days.

Not just that, but Knowsley Council will not be happy with the retail part of the plan and object to it.

I read that how does it directly affect them? Would we be taking funding away from their general direction?

I think in the end though the economic benefits to the area will overshadow any issues against the stadium project

According to LCC

It affects Knowsley by

“Significant commercial/retail would compromise other significant developments nearby, particularly those in neighbouring Knowsley.

They will object due to LCC objecting the DK plans a few years back by claiming this retail will take business away from them.

Tit for tat really.

The government will move hell and high water to allow this.

You know why? The "growth agenda" and building jobs is central to government policy.

There is absolutely no way this won't get allowed in an area desperate for jobs like north Liverpool.

Furthermore if the council combine this with demolition of brownfield sites to return to nature there is absolutely no way that this can be denied. No way.

Cheers lads, interesting that Anderson in that echo vid has said the city has created near 90 acres of green space land in the past 2 years, that and Stanley park being spared from the RS should surely wipe out the green peace argument.

I think Anderson being a blue will be a big help in all of this.

Exactly. If you did a Environmental impact assessment over the whole city and factored in that 90 acres of new green field sites and with more to be generated from derelict brown field sites and increases in biodiversity in those new sites and across the city.

this would quickly put the loonys in their place.

its not rocket science.

that Walton Hall Park is right on TWO major A-Roads too. It could be combined with a new railway station or renovations of nearby stations and all sorts of needed new infrastructure for the north and anfield area of the city.

Its just not not going to happen in my view.

Looking forward to this:

How many stadiums in Liverpool has your club built?

Wouldn't give away the steam off his piss!

I heard he'd only ever buy one shoe for Heather!

Only talking about Paul McCartney today, at lunch, in a different context. Has been very generous to charities lately, and is also allegedly buying small properties , or at least someone is doing it on his behalf. All small deals, but lots of them.

Oh and if you look at a map of liverpool. Kirkdale, Walton, Rice Lane, Wavertree.

There is no railway station anywhere near the area around Cherry Lane.

That area really needs a station that could serve both football clubs and the area around,

Immediately that boosts the sustainable transport element of the project too and reduces pressure on the A-Roads and local areas.

"Nort Liverpool"... eh? "Nort Liverpool"... Where? "Nort Liverpool"... What are you saying Joe?! "Nort Liverpool" ... Liverpool what? "Nort Liverpool" ... you mean North Liverpool Joe.
