New Everton Stadium

Totally agree a running track would spoil our new stadium. Maybe we could build it with a way that seating could be put back over the track after the games? Man City's ground has managed it, think it was built to be changed into a football ground afterwards. I think it had extra stands put on ect.

There are issues with doing that. For e.g, they had to leave the entire North stand down, and use temporary seating in order to allow the space for the track length and for all the gear to get in and dig the extra earth out.

They wont.
I dont see how they wont. They'll use all the spin about 'close to the field of play' etc, but it'll be a new CoM/Etihad effort.

It's a betrayal of tradition and Moshiri shouldn't be indulged in it...he's supposed to have the cash and connections to dictate this isn't he?

It's a betrayal of nothing, cause it will be close to the field of play and will be intimate, it will also have flexibility. These are incredibly clever people who will be working on it, just allow yourself a little bit of faith.

Wait until there's actually a proposal and plans on the table before talking about a supposed betrayal of tradition eh Dave...

That's the problem tho. If we sit and wait till proposals including a track are announced then it's too late isn't it.

It's important fans use their voice now to ensure no running track design is ever considered

Is BM big enough to hold a running track? Putting aside the logistics of converting, can they even squeeze the whole track (more than just the oval, there's the 110m straight to accommodate too).

It was easier for City as they weren't clamouring for a stadium move, so just aligned with the COM build conversion.

Personally, I would accept 1 or 2 seasons of a half-built stadium with temporary stands to allow them to use it for athletics, then convert like the Etihad. Better that than waiting til 2023/24 to move in.
