The wheels are in motion. US architect Dan Meis, whose new Colosseum-inspired Stadio della Roma on the banks of the Tiber is set to open in 2019, has been commissioned. A capacity of 52,000 has been mentioned.

It's ambiguous - the 52k capacity mentioned in the article could refer to Roma's ground OR Bramley-Moore. However, the fact that he has replied to tweets from myself and several blues suggests that he meant it to refer to Bramley-Moore.

Well £350m for what? Is that just pure stadium build? Is land cost on top of that? What about the cost of infrastructure too? It's a very loose number that the journalist has just plucked out the air thinking it sounds about right.

Would be a massive fail if they build a 52k stadium, as soon as they see it's full every game they will be kicking themselves that they didn't make it bigger to start with, especially when they see how much it will cost to reconfigure afterwards.

I agree. Everyone seems to throw around the "expandable in the future" line like it's an easy process to be completed over the off season or something.

Pay a bit extra now and build it right, with ambition I say.

Looks like mystic Bob is trying to manage expectations as usual. I just hope in the meetings when they finally decide they go 5k bigger than what they think they actually need, up to a maximum of 62k. So if someone says 52, i hope the mosh will up it to 57.

I would hope that if any of the incompetent cockwombles on the Board other than Moshiri's man, and Moshiri himself, even contemplate sharing a suggestion, Mr Moshiri sends them packing with their resumes in hand.
