All major construction works require a massive amount of excavation and foundation work. Draining a dock is far easier than digging out land.Won't be cheap, plus it adds to the build time.
Also the cost of the land from Peel. Plenty of additional costs such as flood defence etc etc.

It was successfully done with the Toxteth, Harrington and Herculaneum docks to name a few. London also had numerous transformed docks.I've no idea or experience of dock draining, no idea what work would need to be done.

Obviously the foundations will need to be stronger for the mass of a large stadium, but it's not too much of an issue at all.

Natural to feel apprehensive about this. But there's no reason for despondency. Especially if Anderson's comments are related to our ground being a football ground and not suitable for athletics.Is it just me or has the balloon been deflated since last week's misery job by Elstone?
