New Everton Stadium

Friends arena Stockholm looks amazing. 50 000 capacity. Anyone been?

Would prefer one tier behind the goal. But the rest is very impressive. Retractable roof increases the option of non football related use significantly.

Thank you for the response, I understand that we have bridging loans due to cashflow. But, using Vibrac at a higher rate of interest then our usual creditors seems strange or desperate to me.

Would using a loan from Cayman or BVI have a tax arrangement advantage??
Fulham, Southampton, West Ham and Reading have all used or continue to use Vibrac, who came to the fore post the crash when banks withdrew funding streams to any business sector that they consider any sort of major risk and football fits that parameter

Short term cash flow funding is inherently higher interest as it usually seen as distressed lending. It would normally be cheaper to use overdraft facilities but we lack the headroom. People speculate about who owns Vibrac but they lend to other clubs on a similar basis so I personally struggle with these conspiracy theories despite my less than high regard for our leadership.

I don't think there's any way of putting a figure on how much exta revenue a new stadium will bring in.

Arsenal make half their match day revenue from corporate boxes and while they aren't too lucrative per box (we currently only have 10 anyway) it's hard to extend that to a new stadium.

Businesses want to go to shiny modern stadiums not old grounds like GP.

It's entirely feasible that we would more than double match day revenues without raising ticket prices. If we where to do that then the stadium would very quickly pay for itself. Plus there's all the intangible benefits too.

It's also the main reason why renovating GP isn't an option.

But trying to put figures on it is a bit pointless.

I think 'Etihad' and 'Emirates' are good names to be honest. I don't think 'airline' anymore, it's just what the grounds are called.
This is how it is in the US with many stadiums/arenas too. Even ones that sound horrible to begin with - The Staples Center is terribly cringe-worthy, but you don't really notice that after a while. Same for places like AT&T Park, and fans always make it their own. Lincoln Financial Field (awful name) becomes 'The Linc' which isn't nearly as bad.

Obviously in an ideal world their would be no naming rights, and Goodison should never be renamed for obvious reasons, but if we leave Goodison I think Everton would be silly and short sighted to not sell naming rights.

And the cost.

Would be amazing obviously, but think anything like that would be a bit out of our price range.
Sadly have to agree with you. It cost 237m. Got to say thought it would have been more then that. But as you say we can't afford that. Makes me sick to the stomach to think about kings dock now.
