Ain't gonna lie, the longer this goes on, the more fearful I am of it being a damp squib. Especially in light of that 'council only, not EFC' post earlier.
 
just walked past BMD and can confirm there is absolutely no media there.........unless you count Billy ' no nose ' who was on the phone to the dole about being sanctioned?

Maybe they are acting as guarantors simply for the reason that they will be, in effect, getting a rumoured £4m per year for a very minimal risk. If EFC had decided to fund it themselves there would have been much less financial benefit to the project for LCC.

Also by LCC agreeing to be guarantors it would suggest that it may smooth the path for EFC in the planning permission stage, as LCC wouldn't want to miss out on £4m of "free" money each year.

If what we're hearing is correct it could just be that the project has been set up this way to mutually benefit both parties, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

Or I could be talking complete tosh.

Facts are, this whole push by them to get a new stadium is rooted in their sheer horror when we built the new Main Stand. I know it fried the brains of many Bitters, and even prompted their club to build a ridiculous tower in the corner of their ground to block out the view of ours. Everything they do is driven by what we do, and this new stadium thing is no different. To be honest, without us as the benchmark which they always strive to surpass (and always fail) I think they'd have slid into oblivion long ago. Without us to measure themselves against, they simply have no other genuine ambition or cause. I imagine they believe a new stadium is some sort of game changer, but if we look around, how many other new build stadiums have been massive game changers? It's like all their fans care about is penis waving. It's actually hilarious to witness.

Probably already posted but just reading the bit about stadium game changers, had the tit forgotten about the Kingpower stadium, home of the current Premier League champs.

And LA cuts have nothing to do with this, the council are acting has guarantors on a loan for EFC, they get favourable rates for infrastructure programs like this. However they are unable to utilise the same lending facility to support services, it's a win win for the council

With regards to moshiri, I don't get how he's protecting himself from anything. He's secured a very favourable deal for the financing of the stadium, this lack of foresight was the nail in the coffin for kings dock. No owner would fund this themselves.

There'll be contingencies in place if we fail repayments, that's why audit have approved it. Everything must above board and satisfied them
