New Everton Stadium

Loving the fume... Doom, doom, impending doom.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure Everton were probably earning 20 million pounds per year going back to the early 90's. So where do these whoppers get that the council have to pay up if the TV money dries up or Everton get relegated?

Lets see how much Newcastle made in the championship when they release their annual accounts, i bet it's more than enough to cover the loan.

Looking at some historical data Wolves made 32 million when they were promoted from league 1.

Seeing effectively the council have first dibs on the money, the only thing that could happen is we would have to start offloading the expensive wages and play kids.

If we had a 60k stadium and we sell 40k tickets @ £25 it's still a million pound a home game and enough to cover the loan. As long as we don't take anymore debt and live within our income here on in, we will be fine and so will the council.

The only sad thing about this is........when we first play in our shiny new home, the chance that Koeman, and 99% of the current team will not be part of the set up is highly likely.

had to share this :hayee:

The profit from the scouse pies and sausage rolls would cover it alone!

Best thing about it is Jeff would be happy with the arrangement if it was in Stonebridge cross!

they all would mate. the thing is out of all the ones calling in, you'd think they'd do a bit of research before making knobs out of themselves. I've heard -

the council should have forced us to move to Stonebridge
the council are corrupt
the council are borrowing us 300m
we will get relegated ( twice ) and then won't be able to pay for it
we won't be invited to a super league so it's pointless
taxpayers are paying for it
council showing preferential treatment to Everton

that Roger Phillips was just buzzing his tits off half of them today, piping them right down

Caller "I think it's a disgrace the council going guarantor for them"

Roger "erm this is a common practice and happens all the time"

Caller "yeah well but no but yeah but no but yeah but no" line dead

Utterly ridiculous...

As if they are scoring 1.
I'd rather they scored first, so their fans are all giving it the big one, then they get absolutely smashed.

A bit like the England - Germany game from years back when england won 5-1. If you watch the footage back, you see all the German fans going berserk when they scored early doors... and you can watch it thinking "just wait a bit".
