New Everton Stadium

I am pretty sure that even a temporary track above ground level would not be possible without compromising the football design. They will of course tell you it is but I am pretty sure there wil be some board members that have enough architectural knowledge on here to confirm otherwise

If it does happen there would have to be a significant contribution from the council. Not just conversion costs. The big benefit would be the infrastructure around the stadium but I am still against this
I think Meiss has said himself it's totally possible.

"Games officials are believed to be in talks with Everton over the club’s own plans and that it will be very much a football stadium that hosts an athletics event - the Blues will not have to sacrifice atmosphere or intimacy."

Sweet, no problem at all then. In fact, could be a nice little earner for the club and a little exposure boost too.

So we are actually going to pay a nice amount every year of profits to the council and on top they are getting a free stadium for the games! Surely they will have to pay us a significant amount to host the games or maybe we do not have a choice as they will kind of own our stadium through this group that will be setup?

I'd like to win it personally.

The information today already states it'll be a football stadium used for athletics which it would have to be judging by Dan Meis's tweets about being close to the pitch and steep stands. It would have to mean a temporary track installed above ground level.

We would surely get a lot of extra funding, sponsorship, assistance getting plans 'through' and a guarantee that it'll be ready in 4 years time if it was to host the event.

This was talked about around 150 pages ago.

Basically with tight intimate stands you cant realistically install a running track above ground level.

Using San Mamés as an example (which isn't as close to the pitch as most Evertonians want) would require the loss of 35-40 rows of seats.....the lower tier in Bilbao is only 30 rows so basically the complete lower tier and corporate ring would have to be under a massive platform.

Don't think it will be long now before plans come out.
Everything I've heard suggest 4 distinct stands including a Dortmund-style mass stand behind the goal.

For the life of me, I can't visually figure how you fit an athletic track in a proper football pitch.
The seating goes down to the pitch side. But the first 10/20 rows (or whatever) can retract back under the main stand to reveal the running track? Maybe?

Otherwise, it's a big no from me!

I wouldn't want any of that to be honest.
Big no from me as well. Let's hope there's no Commonwealth Games for Liverpool.
