New Everton Stadium

Football is on a very dangerous spiral. The additional money coming into the game will find it's way the players, agents etc the amount left for reinvestment into any club will be minimal unless the football authorities take back control of the game and there is no real evidence of that happening. There is a real race to the bottom at the moment and unfortunately most people trying to get into football will be following the money rather than following the football.

Everton could use a lot of the SKY money to fund a stadium but this may mean falling behind on the field.

Obviously we don't know the full details of what is being proposed for the walton hall park development but you would think the increased tv money came into the club's thinking where funding is concerned. Our turnover last year was £120m based on £88.5m tv money. The new deal guarantees bottom club £99m that's before you add on the additional fee per match shown on tv that the clubs receive. It should also be remembered that the foreign tv rights deal hasn't been announced yet. This will clearly see a huge increase as well. Everton should be able to make a sizeable investment in the stadium but obviously have to find the balance of keeping a competitive squad at the same time. Once you take into account sale of goodison and naming rights etc, on the back of the tv deal, I feel the club actually COULD afford to put in the funding required to the WHP stadium. Previously that notion was just a pipe dream. Clearly time will tell whether this actually materialises

Is the foreign tv money shared out equally between everyone or is it like real and Barca situation where they get the lions share?

^^^^^^

What am I even on about, like the club can plan anything. I'm still massively sceptical that this board can fund and build a stadium at all. Never mind a decent one with decent facilities

Nobody think this new TV deal will be the trigger for somebody to actually want to buy at the right price for Bill and co to sell?

This new injection of TV cash could be the lucky break Bill and his entourage have been waiting for,

That's got to be the club's plan to increase matchday revenue. If a new stadium could include proper concourses with decent facilities combined with no pubs in the area, more people would spend more money inside the stadium

I wonder if they'd struggle with licensing etc.? If not, it could be a huge coup to have a load of attached bars and pubs specifically for matches. Keep the prices reasonable, have them open for matchdays and they'd make a killing.

If anything I think it will make Kenwright and Co stay longer. Every year they get to sit there without putting their hands in their pockets in the knowledge that for the foreseeable the TV money will rise, contract after contract.
