New Everton Stadium

Again that is something I will leave to a world renowned expert who says it can be done

I have always said it's possible and can be done without causing problems for football, but it requires retractable seating or moveable stands. I hope it is down to whether the council has the money to stump up for the increased costs.

It is possibly why there hasn't been any designs released yet as we will have at least 2 different ones depending if we get the games or not.

And I bet both designs are pretty similar just with different technology, designs wil be out soon

Well put it this way, if I was getting paid to design a stadium, I wouldnt be on twitter saying I'm right out of my depth here boys, does anyone think the reebok stadium looks sound, I trust it will look great but just don't take people's word for it on twitter, ask questions and voice concerns instead of being led 100% devoted to stanger is all I'm saying
But he simply wouldn't put his reputation on the line

Again why would he lie about it? He would be completely neutral about it all and not commit to anything, but he has commode to atmosphere and intimacy FACT

He is being paid to work to a brief...

We will all be in this stadium long after the architect is gone, long after the current regime have sold up and gone.

None of us are experts, there are people out there who will be better than the architect the club are using who will have differing views, a lot of design is clearly subjective...

What I do know, is any consideration towards athletics requires a compromise/workaround. Surely we're all in agreement over that?

There's a required space needed for athletics (look at Hampden) which means any stands are going to lose some of their steepness to accommodate the space required for that track. Look at Atletico an note the angle of the lower tier stands;

There's a reason you couldn't fit a running track into Goodison, Celtic Park, Westfalenstadion...

Crying at this

50,000 commode seats all round the ground hahahhahagah lol lol

Would make your meltdowns easier I suppose Kev

Was going to like this post but what about the other 11878 seats? :p

It would be a first and if we get a system to deliver drinks and snacks then no more standing up to let people pass or to see over.

Lie? No. But it depends whether his definition of intimacy is the same. I'm struggling to see how you square the circle (literally!) of athletics in a football stadium without at least some compromise, unless he really is going to come up with some fancy and expensive solution with everything moving around which surely would impact budget hugely.

Stadiums with retractable seats and even movable stands involve some compromises, as do the stadiums with temporary tracks. He's sort of implied this morning the Etihad solution is a no-go. So where does that leave things?

If nothing else, looking from the outside in, this is really intriguing and I can't wait to see what's revealed. We've got an architect promising a football stadium capable of holding a temporary athletics track without compromise, whilst in the past he's also said most modern stadiums are too expensive. Is he really that much of a magician that he can deliver ALL of that?

Love how the word intimacy here means "close to the pitch, atmospheric"

To me it means doing the bad thing with a nice lady, fingering as a minimum

"Got properly intimate at the Bramley Moore stadium today lad"

"Was she fit?"

"No lad I mean I was close enough to the pitch to shout abuse at Ross Barkley"

See that Liverpool's bid for Commonwealth games includes stadium at bramley moore as the main athletics venue. This screams running track I hope not.
