See that Liverpool's bid for Commonwealth games includes stadium at bramley moore as the main athletics venue. This screams running track I hope not.

100% there will be no fixed running track.

Whether the running track is permanent or not the fact that it has to be accommodated is a disaster. It will ruin the stadum for a hundred years. The only fans putting up with such a scenario are the ones who effectively got the thing for free, but it sounds like we will be paying through the nose for ours

Well it won't it is a totally different design and is being built as a football stadium

this. The etihad is garbage and that had a running track. We need to have towering stands and be intimidatingly close to the pitch, that just cannot be done if you contemplate having a running track unless its one straight 100m thing

Looks like this may be part of the solution. Means the area needed is narrower as you lose the long-jump pits outside the track.
