New Everton Stadium

We are moving because Goodison has been neglected over decades I get that but the obsession with size is what annoys me but crack on y'all. I know davek and other are suspicious of it ever being built and with our track record who cam blame them. I (without any knowledge of this) assume its cheaper to build a 50k so maybe we get funding easier, I don't know just thinking aloud really. Also the "real" money is in corporates sadly, so we need to factor in as many as possible.

You’ve basically just said your suggestion of 50,000 is ridiculous with your last sentence.

I really hope you have a long think before filling that form in.

My mates got 4 kids, he wants to buy a people carrier, but his wife hates them.
She says that most of the time, some of the seats will empty and it will look silly having a big car on the drive.
She says buy a normal size 4x4
car that will look better and then if they ever need 6 seats he can get the bus.
Hopefully they see sense....

Sorry to hear that about your mate, but this is a stadium discussion thread. Reported.

CBA with the long winded form better known as a PR exercise and we know it. What I meant is the more corporates we have then that reduces the footprint for "other" fans. This is why I am fed up with the obsession about size, you disagree, crack on.

We ownt be getting over 50k for many games, unless we are challenging for the title.

Of course we would, providing complete apathy doesn't set in with no hope in the next season or 2. But assuming we survive this season and then start to make progress in the years leading to moving in to the stadium, even if we were only a top 10 side we would still get over 50K.

There is always an increase of interest when moving Stadium, especially when the Stadium is a massive improvement. If Sunderland, Man City and West Ham managed to have a big increase 10-20k, who all have/had smaller fanbases at the time of their move and weren't challenging even for the top 6, why couldn't we?

Dear lord I can’t believe am reading this.

That 3 thousand is a killer isn’t it?

Seriously. We sell out 40,000 now, we have a waiting list on season tickets. We still sell our with some of the worst seats for views in the entire league and probably Championship.

We would be city based and more open to walk up and go fans.

We aim to be big don’t we? Stop thinking low, when the club does it it’s bad enough but when the fans also think low it makes my blood boil.

Quite an overreaction there. 57-58K in my opinion is an ambitious but realistic aim, and is not thinking low at all. It's an extra 17-18K on what we have now, and would put us significantly ahead of the Newcastle's, and also ahead of Man City and Liverpool.

They are building a 3rd tier on top of the other goal end taking the capacity up to around the 61k mark, so it obviously does matter to them else they wouldn't have bothered.

5k empty seats in a 60k stadium wouldn't look that bad. Just think of the games at Goodison when it has 35k, I know a lot of the seats are hidden behind pillars and under the overhanging upper tiers but all you need to do is limit the sale of the top 5 or so rows until x amount of the stadium is sold out, if it doesn't it wouldn't effect how full the stadium looks on TV or harm the atmosphere.

I said too much, ie. they’re hardly going to surpass United in terms of capacity are they? Especially whilst they’re mocked for empty seats and the atmosphere’s terrible at there stadium as it is.

Of course size matters, it’s why the FA Cup and Internationals are played at Wembley. It’s why Goodison used to attract the semi finals and World Cup matches. If we are in the business of making money then we need a stadium that will always be seen as the best, whether for football or any other entertainment endeavour. This is our chance to get back to where we were and we must not waste the opportunity.......

Exactly, computer based allocation, and with clever stadium design they could even be blocked off with moveable advertising.
