New Everton Stadium

Not sure why you mention that, what has it do with Usmanov?
I honestly don't believe Moshiri would sanction such wasteful spending without the financial backing of his business partner regardless of the USM sponsorship deals. Of course like everyone else I have no evidence and nor do I claim to, just a hunch.

If he had any backing from Usmanov, the FA would be down on us like a ton of bricks.

If Usmanov has any traction with the buildling of the new stadium, he will have had a word in Moshiris ear by now, to put a curb on such wasteful transfer spending.

Just like the team, things need to shape up on the financial front, we need our house in order before moving to a new one.

Like the USM Finch Farm deal?

Usmanov is going to give us the cashola, just in that way. The stadium with be USM something or rather. And he will pay crazy money for naming rights just to further his brand. The FA can't do much about that.

That was a naming sponsorship arrangement. There was no direct funding to Mosh or the club to help with the stadium or buying players. As for naming the stadium that will not bring in hundreds of millions.

Stench, fraud, ffs we have Sam Allardyce as manager......
An absolute midden the club's become: owners who have investigative reporters on their case; council chiefs the club are relying on being questioned by the police; a manager who's another bung away from a new crisis.

They say Everton have lost its identity. Well, we're in danger of acquiring a new one for all the wrong reasons.

There's nothing the FA or indeed the premier league can do about Usmanov remaining in the background until he sells his Arsenal shares but in the interim period Moshiri will obviously be aware of his long term intentions.

as it stands weve got £280m off the council, so if we want a Viking style stadium we only have to get another £780+ million.

keep dreaming lids.

we will end up with a replica of the reebok stadium.

It cost £700m to build .. so really we are looking at 400m after the council pay out (i know this is all pie in the sky)

UEFA can though any sponsorship or naming rights deals have to meet their 'fair value criteria'.

Look at what happened to City.

Manchester City have reluctantly accepted a conditional £49m fine and restrictions on their European squad and incoming transfers under Uefa's new financial fair play regime.

City have argued that, despite combined losses of over £150m during the two seasons under consideration (2011-12 and 2012-13), they deserved to pass Uefa's financial test. They said that there had been "a fundamental disagreement" about how the regulations regarding players bought before June 2010 should be interpreted.

The FFP rules allowed for wages on contracts signed before that date to be discounted but only for the season 2011-12.

Uefa also had concerns over the value of their £350m sponsorship with Etihad and deals that raised £47m from image rights and intellectual property in 2012-13. It hoped that by combining sporting sanctions with a financial penalty it would hit affected clubs on the pitch as well as in the pocket.

The other clubs, who accepted lesser sanctions, were Galatasaray, Trabzonspor and Bursaspor from Turkey, the Russian sides Zenit St Petersburg, Anzhi Makhachkala and Rubin Kazan, and Levski Sofia from Bulgaria.

If and it is a big 'if' Moshiri or Usmanov for that matter wanted to pump money into Everton then the only way they could do it is to pay for the ground themselves and then let Everton benefit from the increased revenue. That is allowed under FFP. However it seems that isn't the way things are panning out and that the money will be lent from the City council and paid back by the Club.

exactamundo.

never actually thought of that before.

the hike in this build will be astronomical to say the least.

£280m in costs today will literally be more like £400m in costs in a couple years time. @davek

Iconic stadium down there at that site: £600M is a conservative guess at final cost. Look at what the going rate is for top stadia in this country now.

This ongoing Police investigation won’t play well. There are now calls for the Government to put a supervisory body in charge of the council as they are missing key personnel due to investigations and sick leave. I hope we have a back up financing plan.........

“Calls have been made for the Tory Government to intervene in the running of Liverpool council following recent events.

Former council leader and Liberal Democrat Lord Mike Storey has written to the Department of Local Government claiming the situation inside the authority is at “such a low level” that the government needs to intervene.

He has asked for the same sort of supervisory committee that was brought in at Birmingham Council last year after its chief executive was sacked amid claims of chaos.”
