New Everton Stadium

If they could rig Kirkby, they can rig BMD. I am sure there is a 'compelling business case' for a smaller capacity, but if Everton want to make a statement to the other clubs that we are not just here to make up the numbers, then aside from better performance, the stadium is that opportunity. Let's face it - last summer everybody was sitting up and taking notice of the signings - nobody (fans, media, EFC staff and Board) thought it would end up as bad a season as it has been. I had serious concerns about the back 4 but I never thought we would be regularly conceding 4s and 5s.

I still keep looking at that early season fixture list and wonder if we were proper stitched up. It was just as dodgy as the Villarreal CL draw. Just seemed incredible that Everton finally get some money that helps them be taken seriously and suddenly we are facing 4 of the top 6 before the middle of September.
You have to wonder sometimes if things are fixed against us. The crazy thing about this season is we where 7 minutes away from being top of the league with 6 points after 2 games, beating Stoke and almost beating City. It was the hardest start we had in a long time, don’t think the Europa league helped

We may as well build the 61878 capacity now, it’s cheaper in the long run. If you need to expand in the future then your losing money as you need to close a stand while you build it.

Agree but if we start off with 61,878 for example then a future expansion can only be good and be worth it. Starting in the 50's is so small-time. Hate this current small time attitude at the club. 20 years of apathy. And once the 50k stadium is built they won't bother expanding it we'll all settle for less.

The club need's a huge shake up. Need to think the best. On the pitch, will be difficult but off it get it right. Some latin about that somewhere.

It doesn't have to be 60k. It really, really doesn't. Anything from 55k up is very acceptable.

I answered 60k in the survey because, in my uneducated opinion, I think it'd be the best capacity for us. I don't see why I should expect it though. I doubt it's as simple as whatever the fans vote for is what the stadium capacity will be. I don't think the world will end or we'll become the laughing stock of football if we have a 55k stadium on the Liverpool waterfront. I also don't think what the capacity is determines our status or ambition in English football. I don't actually think anyone outside of this thread thinks that.

They arnt saying 55 thought there saying 50-52 max, which is to small, should be 60k min. We can and will fill it

We would fill 60k once a season, maybe twice if we were doing ok.

Currently, of course if we got CL football that would change, but even then after UEFA has put their stupid drapes over the first 4 rows we would have a reduced cap anyway.

I personally would prefer something like 65k, but I doubt most weeks we would get more than 50k, The derby and maybe a few other high profile games would be 50k+, but most weeks I think 50k would be the norm, personally.

Our 1st season would be a sell out, then if we get success it will stay full

We sell out Goodison every week, we would easily sell more than 55k+ tickets every home league game, providing the ticket prices are reasonable. A waiting list of 10k would support that claim.

We're in a catchment area of around 1.4m people. Marketed right, it could be a success.

Can you show me your workings here? I'm going to need more than: "we sell out Goodison every week" and "waiting list of 10k".

We currently have a 97% average capacity, 50k would be pretty easy, I just doubt most weeks we would fill 65k, but if we were to become slightly successful, that would defo change.
