Had an interesting conversation today with a colleague - Long and short of it was that Elstone has essentially gone (No surprises there) - but he was insinuating that his leaving has massive repercussions in regards to the stadium going ahead

Because Elstone is massively incompetent and this could lead to someone(/anyone) competent getting the stadium over the proverbial line?

Sounds like someone is putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. A lot of people come out with bollocks just to make out like they’re in the know on something.

So an institution is not going to proceed on a stadium which is going to last for 100 plus years cause the CEO is leaving?

What if god forbid he got ill or had an accident?

Presumably because it is unusual for big decisions to be made and made well in the absence of of a chief exec and anyone we wish to recruit might have a lengthy notice period.

However, given the glacial progress so far it will be difficult perceive much change.there so it will hardly be earth shattering in its impact

Erm that was because our former CEO Keith Wyness left wasn't it, very important these CEO's.

Come on mate seriously. Not doubting what your mate said to you but companies don't stop functioning when a CEO leaves. They get replaced and business continues. Suntan bob just isn't important enough for the entire stadium deal to hinge on him.

Yeah billions of investment in the docks area collapses because suntan bob leaves.. ..
