New Everton Stadium

I knew our arl arse fanbase would go with the outdated square stadium.

Why do we have to be so small time? I would rather we ignored fans and built an ace stadium than listen to a fanbase who lets face it has had their ambition beaten out of them under the Kenwright regime and want any old rope.

One things for certain you can forget a 60k stadium after reading that statement. Will be 55k at most.

Fans could have voted for an ambitious stadium mate, but I wouldn’t put it past the club to, shall we say, massage the outcome of the survey because of costs, it’s not as if we haven’t been bullshitted before.

Given they could have just released the full results right now and not through select fans forums says it all.

Let's be honest, I doubt many on here would get an invite to any of the forums.

Imagine Bilbao's or the Allianz lit up blue over the docks mate - water stadiums always look fantastic when its oval shaped - you can still have a 4 sided steep interior but Meis will just knock up a stadium design that's simply outdated now in fear of fan backlash.

Basically a square ground thats 50/52k and has the dixie dean statue outside and the fans are happy. Typical really when the majority of the match going fans let Kenwright get away with murder for near 2 decades.
If it's four stands inside why do you care whether it's a bowl or not outside?

A square structure will probably fit the environment.

I don't want a spaceship design anyway.

Arl arse fan base are you referring to people who have been going the game for years and been putting there hard earned money into a club, who lets face it, apart from a few years back in the 80's and an odd cup run here and there, have been crap. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years, junior evertonian long before I could afford a season ticket. I went to Rotterdam to see us lift the cup winners cup, I have been at Wembley every time we have got there since the 70's, seeing us lose far to many. I was there when Rush got 4 at goodison and also when we somehow sneaked it against Wimbledon.

I have been to most away grounds in the prem/first division, which hasn't been easy especially lately but I voted for a 4 sided square stadium so I shouldn't and wont be ignored and either should any blue, including yourself.

This is a monumental move for our club and fans opinions should be listened to because without us, the club is nothing. The fans, including you, have voiced their opinions so I salute the club for doing so.

True mate I just think our fans give them too much leash at times as you know what they are like.

Really hope they get this right we simply can not make the mistake of going with a budget GP replica stadium with an extra 10,000 - would be absolutely pointless moving in the first place.

Agree mate, not worth moving to an iconic site on the Mersey, then putting an off the shelf stadium on it, we’re only going to get one go at this.

I want the stadium to be distinctive and nothing like Big Stand FC's (Big Stand and Malaysian Stir Fry)... I want 4 stands (or sections of a whole) called Dean, Catterick, Kendall (as in DoCK to reflect the location as well) and Ball.

Agree with this, thought it a really odd question to include in the discussion, surely we want the biggest possible stadium that is financially viable and fill-able on a regular basis. Us fans don't know those sorts of statistics or figures so it really was a pointless question, unless as you say earlier, they are looking to shaft us where possible by manipulating figures e.g 99% said 50,000 plus so we will build 51,000 when of that 99% 90% also said 60,000 plus. Personally I asked for it to be bigger than those lot over the park's bearing in mind they're looking to extend up to 61,000 in the near future.

We can argue the toss about the capacity, but I have no doubt at all that the final result will deffo be an iconic addition to the Liverpool seascape. Not everyone will like it, thats life, but it wont be a Reebok lobbed up on the docks.

I was surprised that the stadium being an iconic addition to the city was low down on the fan survey list mate.

Also, at the end of the day Roydo, money will dictate what type of stadium we end up with.

Just find it mad that the top 6 clubs stadiums will all be superior to ours in capacity don’t we want to challenge them?

Sounds like a cost cutting exercise but Moshiri doesn’t care because his share price will still increase.

...yes, but he's got a job to do within a budget.

It'll test his ingenuity. However, I really think the location is the visual statement and the club are going to use that to put into context any failure for a BMD stadium to match up to Spurs, Chelsea in terms of elegance or jaw dropping.

I don’t as I can’t see us recycling an old design that was unpopular with fans on another stadium project.

If they did do that then what would be the point in engaging Meis and his team to design a stadium at great expense.
