New Everton Stadium

I think there's going to be a massive push from the club in social media to make anything in the 50,000+ range acceptable. They want that wriggle room. IMO though that sends a poor message out to supporters. They needed to state that the lowest the club would ever contemplate would be 55,000 with a build that will offer options in the future to raise the capacity. That would settle matters down.

this is just the start of the doomed docks...

we are already downplaying and back peddling and considering delivering us with a downgraded stadium.

hardly iconic this.

No it wouldnt.

Your sheets would still be damp.

Ah the mythical 10000 people on the waiting list, same one liverpool fans cry out about.

In reality their are thousands of people who put their name down, only to not take one when giving the opportunity..

If their was such a demand, we wouldn't be having to sell half season tickets.

If fact we also average around 1000 below full capacity Don't we?

We havent sold Half ST for years now you little RS vermin.

And WE have an average capacity of 99%, so please pipe down and go and play with your massive paper clip stand.

No, the club have the opportunity to settle matters down in the upcoming consultations by reassuring fans that they wont go lower than a 55,000 stadium. Clearly there's alarm at the 50,000 base figure they've given.

I dont know so much know. Curiously, the backtracking on capacity strengthens the argument that there is a serious effort to get this stadium done and within a certain budget.

50k is really a sideways step .. we woul;dnt be advancing other than the fact of having zero restricted seats.

The negativity on here, and over on ToffeeWeb, is astounding to me. Yes, we as Evertonians suffer from false dawns every bloody year, promises, lies, hope, desperation - four words that sum up our lives really. But this stadium issue is different. Too much at stake for the club. They know what would happen if this all fell through, so they wont let that happen. If I was a betting man I'd put money on all 5 of the below:

1) There WILL be a stadium for us at Bramley Dock. Anyone who still thinks that this is not going to happen, is wrong in my opinion.
2) It will be beautiful. Absolutely, brand spanking new and beautiful.
3) It will be square shaped, with the corners filled in, with a massive home end and all fours sides close to the pitch.
4) It will be between 50000 & 60000 capacity (which will mean empty seats for the majority of home games but hey its what everyone wants).
5) The Red S**** will be jealous as f***

Why are people complaining about the survey, input from fans and who gets asked the questions? Would you rather the club didn't do that?

They have settled matters down, they have said it will 50k+, but people like you assume it means 50k, when its more likely to mean 60k.

Glass half full, not half empty.

because it is sooo bleeeeding amateurish..

it explains why we , the fans, havent heard a single thing about this stadium project... they havent got a clue what they are doing.

saying one thing and then 3 months later back tracking on whats been said.

then theres the mysterious financial situation or lack of it.. the council are doing the hard bit yet we are struggling to do the rest.

its quite frankly bewildering, putting it politely

I wouldn't put money on any of them

How can you say that? You think this is an easy/fast project? They are keeping us informed when and with what they can. And I like the way its not being rushed. And do you think you know how to plan and build a stadium better than they do?
