New Everton Stadium

That Twitter link doesn't explain anything new.

It means that eventually we will be paying it all, which was always the case. As far as I am aware though, the plan is still for the Council to lend us £280m initially until we pay it off over the 25 years.

In real terms the council aren't actually loaning anything to Everton, it would be better explained as allowing us access to favourable lending rates while charging a facilitation fee. Of course, legally, it's an LCC loan, but practically, it is not. It will hardly touch the account of LCC.

Let's be honest at least.
If it were the other way around and Liverpool were looking at the opportunity that we are currently looking at we would take help from the devil himself to make it stop.
This new stadium changes everything... but it will take time, it won't happen overnight.
The Liverpool supporters looking at current teams/ current managers are missing the point.
This is a gradual change rather than a dramatic one. Visitors to the city will go to the new stadium on the docks , pictures going around the world will be of the new football ground in Liverpool... hopefully iconic pictures.

The opportunity to earn extra money and to compete with our former near neighbours is an obvious bonus.

This will be happening long after Allyrdyce/Klopp/Salah/Pickford . It is not about a team or a manager.
It is about the very fabric of a club changing and the potential it has changing with it.

This will go on for ten-twenty-thirty years.

This is why it is so important and so important that it is right.

This is why Liverpool supporters are worried....rightly so..hopefully

I think this is huge reason why we can see straight through their whinging and moaning.

Baring in mind that the evidence this thread throws up, many Blues havnt grasped that till maybe recently, not sure many Reds would have got past the "We are paying for their ground" page yet.

When do we find out when the vetting process is done and all the yes men have been invited?

Imagine all the lads from kipper first ok the list, how about Parko off Twitter also...

Just bitter horrible victims

just jelous because they've put a big [Poor language removed] new roof on the shed they call a ground meaning they won't be going anywhere any time soon

never known people to cry and moan as much as that lot

No one is going to admit it like, but if this was the RS going for Bramley Moore with the same deal with the council as we’ve negotiated, then we’d be up in arms as well even though it’s benefiting the city, it’s just the nature of people.

Oh I will happily admit it, and I havnt lived in or near Liverpool for 45 years.

If it was them, saying "but it will benefit the City" would be like when they went close and we finished 5th. This pace was awash with RS whoppers saying they hope we get 4th cos its good for the City.

Dont blame their fume a bit.
