New Everton Stadium

It pains me to see the redevelopment of villa park. Aston villa is a big club in many peoples eyes but not as big a club as everton. They have arguably had similar 'success' throughout the sky era so turnover wise they must be in a similar position to ourselves. But that's where the similarities end. In the same period they have redeveloped the ground stylishly, unlike some other clubs it doesn't resemble a concrete soulless bowl. There are other examples of teams who have relocated or expanded their stadia but I think villa is an example of what could be done at everton with a little foresight.
Agreed. Villa Park is my favourite PL stadium. What they did to the Holte End is architecturally fantastic and how they expanded the other stands is a classic example of where there's a will there's a way.

"Everton are pulling in an additional £33m per season from the current television rights deal, a figure that could increase to as much as £85m each year between 2016 and 2019. While some of that will, as a matter of course, end up in the pockets of players, their agents and other clubs in the form of inflated prices and salaries, there should be plenty of scope to combine a targeted player recruitment strategy and the continuation of the club's sound wage structure with a phased redevelopment scheme that would allow the club to remain competitive in the Premier League while moving towards to a more secure financial future."

If these figures are correct, £85m in extra TV money per season. C'mon, so don't buy any players one Summer and finish mid table, which we will probably finish anyway, and use that money towards a Goodison redevelopment.

Reading Elston's latest press release you know immediately that he is a politician or if you prefer a liar. The language is vaguely positive but full of caveats and completely unreliable. How can Liverpool Council be a partner when they don't have a shilling?

The argument is similar to the overall ownership issue. From time to time often when season tickets are on sale the matter is brought up. There is some P.R. and nothing happens.

Why can't the Park End be developed? Why can't the Main Stand be developed?
Newcastle, Villa and Rangers have alll developed their grounds in similar environments as Goodison and have retained their spiritual homes.

If Billy Liar could not pull off the open goal that was King's Dock how the hell is he going to develop an entirely new greenfield site ?

He's a willy wonka mate.

This board shouldn't get the opportunity to make a decision on what could be our future home for the next 200+ years.

I've never known a more amateurish board of directors at a big club. If anyone still backs them after this latest farce then there is no hope for you, or Everton.
That was my argument with them when they came out with the Kirkby crap and it applies now.
Maybe we are going to get lucky as a club and they will be gone before any such big decision is adopted.
I for one am happy to wait..

Premier league licencing rules mean that only £4 million can go to increased salaries per season.

All the rest must be non-TV revenue related increases to fund the increased wages.

So the club has lots of money.

Elstone's comments are a farce.

We cannot stay at goodsion for the next 200 years, we have to upgrade to keep up with the top clubs. Our board is too old now and don't have any ambition, thinking like old men. Silly business

Watching the bradford fire documentaries last week, that stand came down in four minutes. It takes me that getting out the top balcony at the end of the match, rebuild one stand at a time, dread to think were we will be in ten years time
