New Everton Stadium

ffs we ain't paying 500m for 10,000 more seats. It's a whole new stadium, in a great location, will have corporate facilities not possible at Goodison, the surrounding area all done with bars, hotels in what will be a prime location and your saying it ain't worth it????

How do you know there isn't a demand for a 60k stadium? Theres a waiting list already for a 40k stadium.

You know all this anyway

Its on every bloody page in here why it could be a 60k and why we ain't paying 500m for 10,000 seats.
The waiting list for season tickets is around 7000 (rang the ticket line) but she said a lot of these people on the list go to games anyway through club membership

United, Chelsea Liverpool, spurs had much massivr waiting lists some who had been on this list since the 1990's hence why expansion was desperately needed

Where are these bars and hotels you talk of, your just assuming they will be built.

Theres is a demand for more seats but it's no where near 20000.

Still fewmmmin lad?

The whole area is being regenerated, there are several bars and hotels in the plans.

And if you think no other pubs not in the plans won’t open up, I think you’re not being realistic.

This is a great thing happening.

Found out schalke have a nod to their working class mining roots with this cool modification to their tunnel.

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....eritage-turning-tunnel-replica-coal-mine.html

I’d like us to do something similar - can’t really imagine what thought at the moment.

Probably have the leitch criss crosses all the way through?

Easy, have the dressing rooms in the Liver Building and have a dead long Red Star style tunnel to BMD. It's only a 20 min walk.

I don't have a fear of empty seats, they'd be in the gods anyway.
I do have a fear of the club over reaching and living beyond it's means.
The extra 5k seats (from 55 to 60) would be the most expensive to build and offer the least return.
I'd far prefer that the money needed to get to 61,878 was spent on future proofing the stadium so that one day we might even go to 70k if needed

From what we've seen so far on the design from St Lukes it looks like the stadium will just about fit so there's little room to expand further behind the goals. The side stands have the room but there's zero overlapping at all seemingly so as you say any additional seats will be miles from the goal and maybe even too far for FIFA regs (I'm sure someone has more knowledge on that). The decision on overlapping tiers is a big one.

The majority of his work isnt old century docklands mate.

Dont get me wrong I would love him to prove me wrong but I cant see how "modern" "brick" "looking like it grew from the Docks" can go together.

Hopefully he suprises me.

I actually think it does look as much like growing from the docks as possible from the leaked pictures. If you imagine seeing it side on from ground level (or the ferry) it looks like a brick facade with a blue steel thing growing out of it.

Where are you getting these figures from
Our midweek attendances In Europe were below 30,000 (this was before Koeman was under pressure )
People just expecting another 30000 fans to come out of the wood work, get a grip lads.

The corporate seats is where the money is, but there's not much demand for that here

League cup Southampton another one barley got 30,000 through the door.

So I don't know where people are getting 60,000 from, people just looking at the top 6 teams and thinking if they can do it so can we, they have the demand we havent.

50,000 is suitable but why pay 500m for 10000 more seats, hence why next year this whole thing will be scrapped
Where is this WE and OUR. coming from

I'm not assuming they will be built at all, both Everton and Peel and the City Council have mentioned numerous times about how that part of the city will grow.

Only because we get 40k now doesn't mean we won't get 55-60k in the future. It's amazing the effect a successful team will have, we've never had the chance to venture into the corporate side of things.

Basically your chatting absolute crap as per usual but you know this anyway and don't need me to remind you.

I think if everything is done right it will all work out amazing. I to wish we had purchased say Nelson dock to if we could have extra land An massive car park for match goes that drive the game would have been nice.
A lot of money for a car park
Public transport , dedicated buses and rail links is the way to do it
Moshiri is no fool and he will have access to the best consultants and experts in the field and will use them
He didn’t become a billionaire by being rash
60k is the way to go

I wonder if all this public consultation and talk of "private funding now the preferred option" is all bluff to get the majority behind it only for us to then go with the council loan once everyone is behind plans?

I cant see us affording this completely private and I wouldn't be shocked if following public consultation two next year if it emerges we are getting either half or even the majority of this funded via the council loan.

Add to that, many seats in Goodison are designated as restricted views or if not, still have some form of obstruction. For the former you get a small discount.

I know from where I sit in the Street End, some of the views people have at the back are atrocious and you could expect the same in the Lower Bullens.

What about the back of the Upper Bullens with the posts and tiny leg room? It would make me think about spending the full price of a ticket to get such a view.

A better designed stadium with easier access, better views and more amenities will draw in more fans as it will be financially more appropriate, along with comfort.

If we have success on the pitch as well, then I don't see why we can't easily regularly hit the 50-55k; for big games, then 60k could be within reach.
