New Everton Stadium

After yesterday's disappointment I had the misfortune of a WhatsApp conversation with my red uncle. He's okay really but still a red. He is adamant that Everton do not have the money to build the stadium. He knows this because he lives in the city (I haven't for nearly 30 years) but he is convinced and has heard on the city grapevine that it will never happen. The consultation, the architect, the L4 legacy - all a sham and people locally know it won't happen. The current improvements for the road infrastructure are just for the new ferry terminal - not BMD. Liverpool Waters is real but not BMD, he says. He seems so certain and says it is all a pipe dream. I hope the Mosh can prove him wrong and I have a feeling those designs, despite the painfully long wait, will be worth it.
A guy I worked with in construction in london told me a week ago he's seen the plans. Said he didn't like it but it's 4 definite sides / not a bowl. It's Def happening and out to tender

The road improvements on derby road/regent road have been in the pipeline for years and are to do with the Liverpool 2 development at seaforth. The road infrastructure cutting onto Leeds street as always been for the ferry terminal, that’s not old news

And Liverpool waters has been ongoing for years with development already started so I think your uncle doesn’t have a scooby what he’s going on about

That's good because I remember on one of my visits to Liverpool some ten years back when he pointed to Stanley Park as we drove past and delighted in pointing to the site of LFC's new stadium to replace Anfield. Funnily enough, he hasn't mentioned that much in recent years.

He's probably right there.

He's a thick Irish man u fan. Doesn't know his football so wasn't that descriptive. I asked if it's brick on the outside and he said that he thought so. Think it's either got towers in the corners or something that is genuinely love it or hate it. I'd prefer that to a generic bowl

Sounds like a re-hash of The Stadio Luigi Ferraris, I wouldn`t be too disappointed with that if it was 60k.........

I see he’s at it again, suggesting the capacity. When will he backtrack on this one?

or you could look at this and say 'well, at least he's engaging which likely means the project is still on'.
People seem to be forgetting that Meis is the architect. He'll design what he's told to design. He's not a financier/board member/local govt/Peel holdings or the builder. He's an architect who's not taking things too seriously. If you're getting wound up by an occasional tweet from an architect about a project that hasn't started yet, you've prob got other things to worry about.
