New Everton Stadium

A lot of moaning on here!

I’d say 52k is about right. Even 45-48. I don’t know where people think these extra 14k+ fans are coming from? It’s a lot of people.

Even at 52k there’s a risk that some will think they can pick & choose games & don’t need to buy season tickets.

Personally, I’d rather be in a stadium sold out every week, rather than see empty seats.

Being pragmatic, it’ll be a massive improvement on today’s status. The design is key though. If it is a genuinely impressive stadium that competes with Spurs’ new ground, then it’ll be mission accomplished.

I hope they’re not just relying on ‘city centre location’ as a selling point. It has to be that + iconic or innovative design. If they release images of a Tesco Bowl, then combined with a conservative capacity, it’ll be a white elephant.

The point being the club considered 50,400 suitable in 2007.

1,600 seats more over 10 years later.

There's something to that. I'll leave it to @davek

Yeah, I'd imagine money (both the cost of the stadium & the current demographic of our fans), the country being brought to it's knees with this Brexit crap, and purely who Everton can attract to invest. The price of the land now must also be be far greater than what KD was back then and certainly more than DK.

And if the demand is there we can easily go 2nd on that list

I really do not like the idea of leaving Goodison. Say what you like, but I have doubts about Moshiri’s motives here. How much is this stadium going to cost, who is going to profit from the construction, why is the renovation of Goodison not an option and how is it going to be funded?

52k is a big stadium you wierdo's. Gate receipts is a drop in the ocean compared to tv money and sponsorship for a successful side. As long as its a thing of beauty id be happy, an extra few thousand seats is not going to make a difference to us becoming a force, get it close and intimidating, I want our players to be sh**ing themselves about playing a bavkwards pass.

A starting capacity point of 55'000, ( another measly 3'000 seats)would put us in the biggest (top five) grounds in the premier league. Then with the possibility of an increase later to 62'000 would probably appease most Evertonians.

It's about 4 extra rows at the top of the stands. Hardly going to break the bank is it? Do that at a later date and it will cost 10x to do the same thing.
