New Everton Stadium

Just a thought, but how would you increase 10k seats in a stadium with a fixed roof?

Wasn't the idea of the new park end that it could or will be expanded, in other words it won't happen, not untill there is demand for it, I'm actually ok with 52 though, would of like higher 50s or better still 60k but 52k is still a lot, and if full and in voice (sniggers) on the waterfront it will be great

I've said before if we had a 52,000 capacity now at Goodison, we'd fill it. That's now. Even under Allardyce. Obstructed views, no success (yet). We'd fill it.

That's hypothetical. I find it hard to believe that if we moved to a brand new stadium, at a waterfront location, that we're not going to exceed 52,000. Throw in some success, we're supposed to be ambitious; we'd have a lot more coming than 52,000. Don't underestimate our fan base Everton.

People are just assuming it would be easy, even if it is drawn on the plans.

It's a huge task. Like adding a small league one or league two sized ground to your existing stadium, and on our particular site which has a smallish footprint, I can only assume it would be stands on top of existing stands, meaning the roof being altered along one or two sides, making the stadiums atmosphere totally unbalanced.

Like I've said it's non sensical BS

Whatever the capacity will be I wish they'd just get on with it. Even with today's announcement if all goes according to plan we have another 5 years to wait at least.
What's another 5 years...

They could of just added another 12000 seats at Goodison.

Demolish the park end and rebuild a bigger version of the gwladys and save ourselves about 600m

Job done

Not sure this is the answer when you've got black bins and red and white tape closing off toilets in the Gwladys street, we need a new stadium and if it is 52k seats in 5 years it's better than we have today.

Just get on with it please, or win a trophy.

Imagine us getting good in the next five years and winning something bringing with it huge demand for tickets and the Need for 65k seats..

I dont get the angst over capacity. Its much more important to secure an iconic, well built stadium on a site of such global importance. Revenues will flow from it regardless. And Everton couldn't sustain home gates initially of 60k with likely ticket prices in 4 years time.

It's just a nob measuring exercise.[/QUOTE
Reading the posts of so many on here it is about one upmanship over other teams rather than what is right for Everton.

If you look at something like the Stadium MK they built the roof higher than the then finished stand allowing it to be extended back over time without removing anything else.
That would never work for us.

The one thing we've all demanded is atmospherics.

A roof 50ft higher than it needs to be would not be beneficial whatsoever

Plus the weather coming in off the mersey!
