New Everton Stadium

Why does it need to be bigger? The money from tickets isn't substantial to the club. We ain't going to become successful any time soon. The club seemingly cannot afford a top quality stadum at a higher capacity. So ail in all, we should be satisfied with 52,000 and hope it is exactly what's been promised. The location beats anything in the entire league, especially once the development around it is completed, and despite Anfield being bigger, it'll be nothing compared to ours. Planes flying into Liverpool in the evening, first thing they see is our ground. Visitors wanting a quick trip to a stadium, ours is much more accessible. It'll be ace, if it ever happens.

Not to mention cruise liners sailing in and other ships.

Agree wholly mate

Personally, i think this is a strategy by the club and eventually the capacity will be 55k after the fan consultation, it will also take it above Mordor, which will sate a lot of our fans.

For me its not about filling or not filling, no doubt we could fill 60k in certain matches, the derby, cup quarterfinals etc, European games etc. But there are particular games we are no way filling a 60k stadium for the likes of home games against Watford, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Palace, Brighton, Cardiff, Fulham, Wolves, Southampton etc in my opinion, it will be a push to fill 52k, to be honest for those games. When you look at it logically its actually a bit foolish to build anything beyond 50-55k.

You have to physically think of a stadium of 52k size, i dont know if people have been to St James Park or the Eithed but they are the closest, they are fine and huge modern grounds that would suit us down to the ground and we can be proud of the ground if they are similar, i actually think The Eithed and Sames James Park are more atmospheric and electric then say 60k stadiums like the Emirates or The Olympic Stadium. Not to mention our ground is going to be an iconic site. It really could be an absolute Gem.

I am big into the GAA in Ireland and i go to Croke Park regularly, Dublin the biggest team (population 1.3mill) in Gaa play their home games in Croke Park and its an 80k stadium. In early games in the championship or league over here, you are lucky to get 20-30k and the place resembles a morgue. Its fine come a semi final and final, but for the majority of the games there, the stadium is to big for the event and really affects the atmosphere and experience.

This really......

I must say that I love how there was fume just a gew months ago at the suggestion of anything less than 55k, but now there is widespead agreement that 52k is a great capacity

But on another note, when I visited Liverpool back in Jan to go to the new years day game, I also paid a visit to the Beatles museum thing at the docks (because why not). I wonder if there could be an arrangement for a beatles museum tour and a new stadium tour on a combined ticket, given their proximity? Would be great to get tourists in and help promote our name and history.

If they’re not starting the building until nxt year it surely gives more time to gage opinion that 52,000 isn’t good enough.

Not quite building it next year more planning submission. But I think 52,000 is what we'd get right now at Goodison. Surely then 52,000 is the bare minimum to accommodate now. What about projecting a rise in attendances due to the new stadium factor, the waterfront factor, dare I say it, future success? 52,000 is a tight fit. Accommodate 61878 with the potential to add another tier in the north stand, taking it higher if needed. Do that Mr Meis. Mr Chong.

Love it how people are saying 60,000.

We have one of the cheapest tickets going
We offer big discounts on child and senior citizens
We have a low demand for corporate hospitality
A lot of people pay for there st in installments because they can't afford it
We struggle to sell our midweek games

But hey there's 20,000 people waiting for tickets apparantly
Still haven’t got my head around this WE buisness

Always intrigued by this idea that you can just add another tier onto a stand when you choose. Why hadn't anyone thought of that, infinite capacity limits.

dont be silly mate, eventually people wont be able to see the pitch

i suppose you could give them binoculars...

I'm not sure that is true. At all. Wait and see what the stadium looks like also. A large increase in income will come from the average fan spending FAR more on booze and food before, during and after the match thanks to the stadium being for more geared towards us spending our cash.

We live in the era of subordination thats why.

Just look at the Yerry Mina thing today - people making something out of nothing and putting pressure on anyone who dares be controversial to reign it in and tow the party line.

Same with EFC fans, people were outraged about anything less than 55k but now its official people are made up. Most wanted better than Silva but now he's manager he's utterly boss.

Its like people are wired to feel the need to accept the status quo in fear of being a racist/sexist or in EFC forum labels a bed wetter, cryarse or kopite.
