New Everton Stadium

Disagree mate, City had about one season outside the top 6 then Hughes got them top 4 and the season or so after Mancini won them the league.

Moshiri has been here near 3 years and we are no better off than then minus the stadium news.

If you think we are breaking the top 4 appointing blokes like Alladyce and Silva and expecting to be beat by said teams we are aiming at overtaking more fool you.

City bought £270m worth of players in two seasons you silly billy.

We do not live in that world anymore.

As for not being better off, nonsense. Two 11th place finishes, 7th and 8th after he bought us. Much better squad. Blindingly obvious to anybody.

Everyone has money now as well. When Chelsea and City got rich hardly anyone else was.
Nowadays most consistent Prem Teams can go out and spend.
They have stellar commercial revenues that's why.

I'm amazed at this thread reading posts saying that the match day revenue will make our turnover go up substantially when that is not the case, it's the third or 4th most important revenue for clubs.

For CL clubs Commercial and TV are the bulk of a clubs revenue and CL revenues then match day.

Bayern's matchday revenue is 17% of their turnover of over £500 million pounds.

Juve's match day revenue is £24 million a year and they are ranked 8th place in the top 10 richest clubs.

City's match day is £52 million and they have a turnover of £500 million financially doped by over excessive over priced owner linked commercial deals by Shiekh Mansour at nearly £250 million a year.

Hilariously PSG match day revenue is around £120 million a year with a stadium around 45000, but we know like city they are financially doped by a human rights abusing oil rich regime.

And our latest turnover results are worrying when the bulk of our turnover is TV money with a pitiful commercial revenue stream and 77% of that turnover is being spent on wages.

Them across the park have a commercial enterprise that gone tenfold that's growing their turnover every year at 30%.

Commercial is what needs boosting, relying on match day revenues to get us up the money list is impossible.

I'd be interested to know the difference in financing between 52k and 62k and would assume the club will be asked to elaborate in the next consultation.

Particularly if there are going to be visually unique and appealing design features, it may be that 52k with Meis' design is the maximum they can get private funding for. If it is a boring old run of the mill 52k then that's another matter entirely.

If that is the case then fair enough as ultimately it is on financial grounds as to whether it gets built or not.

The more I think about it though, the more it seems that the additional capacity option is just window dressing.

Everyone is desperate for this and I expect the message to be a very firm take it or leave it and for that to amplify over the coming months, backed up by whatever experts they can find to support 52k.

You nearly went a whole post. So nearly.

...last Saturday before Christmas notoriously impacts attendance but City are spoiled. I’m afraid football doesn’t matter for many of their fans because they know the next trophy is around the corner.

It seems to be every week tho.

Even CL games, I get the spoilt thing, but its still a point to consider.

Agree wholly mate

Personally, i think this is a strategy by the club and eventually the capacity will be 55k after the fan consultation, it will also take it above Mordor, which will sate a lot of our fans.

For me its not about filling or not filling, no doubt we could fill 60k in certain matches, the derby, cup quarterfinals etc, European games etc. But there are particular games we are no way filling a 60k stadium for the likes of home games against Watford, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Palace, Brighton, Cardiff, Fulham, Wolves, Southampton etc in my opinion, it will be a push to fill 52k, to be honest for those games. When you look at it logically its actually a bit foolish to build anything beyond 50-55k.

You have to physically think of a stadium of 52k size, i dont know if people have been to St James Park or the Eithed but they are the closest, they are fine and huge modern grounds that would suit us down to the ground and we can be proud of the ground if they are similar, i actually think The Eithed and Sames James Park are more atmospheric and electric then say 60k stadiums like the Emirates or The Olympic Stadium. Not to mention our ground is going to be an iconic site. It really could be an absolute Gem.

I am big into the GAA in Ireland and i go to Croke Park regularly, Dublin the biggest team (population 1.3mill) in Gaa play their home games in Croke Park and its an 80k stadium. In early games in the championship or league over here, you are lucky to get 20-30k and the place resembles a morgue. Its fine come a semi final and final, but for the majority of the games there, the stadium is to big for the event and really affects the atmosphere and experience.
