New Everton Stadium

It'd be hard not to have some form of particularity about it...it is a new stadium, after all. Brick and glass and steel...in that shape. We've seen it before. It doesn't captivate me as much as the location, I'm afraid.

It is a new stadium, but the detailed design is brilliant. The location is amazing and will always be the number 1 asset, but this is not in anyway a standard stadium, unfortunately there are only so many building products that can be used, and the pitch is always going to be rectangular, so much thought has gone into it, that theoretically you can remove the stadium one day, and BMD could be reinstated to its current state..

Ha Ha Ha. Talk about inversion of the truth. I think it's me who isn't allowed to have an opinion on this stadium, not you. I wonder why I'm being picked up on over the design observations that others are also making.

Have some faith in your own conclusion on it. What does it matter what I think?
Oh you're allowed your opinion all right, it's just that it's always so bleedin' negative.

Love this view down the river, can see the Liver Building in the background, gonna be a lovely walk along the river into town.

It’ll look even better when Peel get their buildings up.

Meis interview:

You've spoken in the past how the cost of stadiums could become prohibitive due to the demands and expectations of owners – was that applicable here?

“No, I don't think so because from the very beginning this owner, and through and through from the club, they didn't talk about revenue and why this was important.
“What I tend to get with a lot of projects is....where the revenue is going to come from. “But in this case, because we weren't being driven by a revenue model, we were being driven by an experience model".

Bizarre answer for a club that's pinning its hopes on a stadium-led recovery.

I think it'll grate with those who wanted a 60K build.

Yep, gotta get fans/families in early doors and take advantage of great catering opportunities.

Make it a place you want to go and have. A pint or 2 before the game at the ground instead of a pub and then waltz in 2 minutes before the game kicks off.

So many doors we've never had a chance to open so it's vitally important we make the most of it.
If you go to Wembley for an nfl game, it's TOTALLY different to a footy match.
Loads of vendors etc.
I'd imagine Spurs will be doing the same experience.

Not being able to use the bogs cos someone is having a fag just isn't an option.
