New Everton Stadium

it should come as a surprise to hear that Moshiri doesn't really want to spend 100m just on foundations ...

hes here for pure profit. losing that kind of money in a hole is not anything he wants to be doing

Whilst I accept Stubbs will probably have an inside line... how on earth do you know what the foundations have been estimated at?

Been on Twitter the last hour. Ian Ross I think that is
That Hothersall is a horrible biased red, giggling in the back ground he would love it if it fell through. I’m not having it for one minute mind

He's saying that there were a load of rumours going round, well yeah they were posted on here at the time. Doesn't mean there's anything to them, there's always rumours and most of them are rubbish.

If they'd taken a decision not to go ahead there would be a full scale PR operation underway to try to manage the fall out. That's clearly not happening so the most obvious answer is there's been no such decision and its still full steam ahead for BMD.

if he's come here for the pure profit why has he spunked so much money on transfers and sacking managers?

BEcause that's purly on him, he hired the wrong managers who hired the wrong players..

he also knows he can sell afew and make a few quid back. unlike this stadium.

thats why the cost to build is at its miinimum it requires to build a new ground, thats why we are building 52k seast and not 62k seast , its all relative to his profit margins

So what you're saying is he's building the stadium he (and the club) can make money from rather than the one he (and they) can't?

Or just that he doesn't like making money after a certain point?

Have you seen the pictures? This isn't some kind of bargain basement off the shelf shed? It's a fantastic design in an equally great setting and it's supposedly going to cost nearly half a billion quid. It's not the sort of thing you get built by Tesco...

NO WHAT im saying is , hes skimping on paying for a good manager and good players, hes skimping on a new ground , 500m is half of what spurs have just paid for theirs .. regardless if it its London or not , as we are building on a dock in a WHS so that evens that out...

he is skimping on capacity as that also greatly effects cost

and now it seems as per the rumours , he not that willing to go spending 100m just in the ground...

hes here to make money

THAT IS ALL HE HERE FOR

Building in a World Heritage Site doesn't impact anything. Not the planning, not the way you build, nothing. All they can do is cry arse about it later. Trust, I live in a town that did it in a setting much more beautiful than BMD. Building in an already developed site in central London is HUGE cost driver. For any number of reasons (largely labour costs however), have a look at the Olympics for evidence.

Why does it seem that way? Other than you're negative and want to be right on the internet.

They're building a ground they can fill consistently and, yes, make a profit from eventually.

Spurs season ticket is nearly two grand.

They can sell loads more hospitality each match due to being located in one of the leading commercial cities in the world.

52k will still make it one of the UK's top stadia by capacity.

you are completely restricted in how you can go about things …

it makes life extremely difficult.

same as renovating a grade one listed house … everything has to be done to a requirement

so yes, it does impact cost and time scales

edit : ive worked on WHS and listed buildings
