This is the biggest construction project for the city since Liverpool one.

The private investment, jobs creation and igniting the rest of Liverpool water development is massive.

The city are lucky to have Everton, whilst over at Anfield it's surrounded by tinned houses and CPO's.

Everton win major public support for new stadium plans

Everton have released results of their ground breaking second stage public consultation on new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock

Everton, who remain on course to submit a planning application before the end of the year, have also revealed that 98% of all respondents support the design of the 52,000 seater stadium with 99% of Everton fans backing what architect Dan Meis unveiled in July.

I have it on good authority that 54% of the respondents who didn't back the plans are current or banned users on GOT ( or both ).

What this exercise shows is that a few noisy people on the internet are never representative of normal fans and the general public, and the two consultations have overwhelmingly demonstrated the will of the lurkers.

Ahh see what you are saying. Yes, it was never an issue in the first place they've known for ages what it would cost and would have backed out then if it was insurmountable.

I'm rather hoping that this is the tack they are taking, get PP for a big building, get it approved, then alter the app to make it a touch bigger.

The flyover is being broken down in Gilmoss, right next to Stonebridge there would be no additional strength from rubble as only good for landfill (hardcore).

We need a lot of hardcore to fill a dock

Sorry to ask what may be a daft question, but what does that mean in terms of the stadium? Would they have to dig down a lot deeper and that would drive up the cost, or doesn't it mean they just can't build there period?

Oh and given Degsy's post above about the dock walls holding back all that water and thinking of current events in Doncaster, does that mean there's risk to the area due to weak foundations?
