New Everton Stadium

It seems like the argument on £52k vs £60k capacity is caution and 'old Everton' vs new ambitious modern Everton. I hope that we have actually done homework on this and it is financially sound It feels like the capacity is 'only increasing 14000' and so doesnt' feel like a massive change. I hope there are a few factors that have been considered and this was really an ambitious project, not just vanity or a really potentially massive project held back by nervousness and old fashioned thinking:

1) If the prices increase dramatically for everyone, it'll be unfair and also won't attract new season ticket holders maybe - we have to be priced sensibly
2) I hope that there are many more corporate boxes - even a ring around the whole stadium ( haven't seen plans ) because these premium seats and corporate boxes are where we will make loads of money more than we are doing now.
3) We do have to keep a small number - I don't know how many - on general sale for the Premier League tourists, who will come because it's a shiny new ground on the waterfront. Have to work with Marketing LIverpool and Culture Liverpool on this
4) Hopefully we are expecting more money not just from the ground naming and general sponsors but from being able to sell much more advertising and sponsorship around the stadium than we can currently.
5) 52K will take our capacity to match 'our place in the PL table' - i don't know if this is good or bad but we'll be behind Wembley, Man U & Emirates = obviously that makes sense - and also Spurs, Anfield and City of Manchester. Only City of London which is not always full anyway is ahead of us, and we would be ahead of
Chelsea - from that point of view it makes sense

On Twitter the response to the released documents was where are you going to sit in the new ground ? A lot of people talked about being transferred to the "equivalent" seat in the new ground from Goodison. So the man who sits next to me said Upper East stand as being the equivalent to The Upper Bullens. Im not sure it will be as we sit in the front of the Upper Bullens, with the new stadium being so much bigger the Upper East Stand may be much higher than the Upper Bullens. Any chance of someone putting up the new East stand plan against the Upper Bullens so a comparison can be made ? Will everyone in the Upper Gwladys want to be at the back of the new South Stand ?

There's the difference in massing between 52k and 60k

I think certain seats will rise quite a bit. So whilst there may be modest rises in the South stand i expect seats in the middle of the East Stand to be substantially higher than the equivalent seats in the Bullens Rd. Just guesswork of course

When the new ground eventually opens I wonder if the club might look at the number of season ticket holders. There will always be a number of supporters who cannot attend a game on a given day for any number of seasons. The greater the number of season tickets the greater the possible number of empty seats.

The novelty value alone of the new ground when it opens will mean there will be lots of people who will want to go to a game in the stadium just for the experience, as many do when they visit other cities.
We have all been to games which have been sold out but still see empty seats around the ground, same as every other club.
I know that it is possible to buy tickets on Stubhub and I have done this but it would be interesting if something were available at the ground on matchdays to match unused season tickets with customers who walk up to ground just to see a game and visit the stadium.

I feel this new ground will attract huge numbers of visitors when it is finished.

Once the site became available, (and the attendant docks development became clearer), the size of the site, plus height issues due to World Heritage requirements kinda drove the seating number. Apparently, iirc, getting another 10000 seats in was not impossible, but the additional costs made it economically, a bit silly.

I think most are reconciled with that. It will always be on the docks, (important in our part of the world), but will never be the biggest.

I've seen two bits referring to a larger capacity. There's a diagram showing the original plan and the current plan and basically they'e shaved a few rows off the top and I think made the north side a bit bigger to compensate. The other is the CG reference where it mentions 60k but the stadium is in a W>E orientation.

I think you're right, the site is a bit restrictive. Apart from reducing seat spacing or safe standing being 1:1.5 the only option I can see for expansion is buying some airspace above UU.

I thought at first you meant ‘poorest’ as in always booing and negativity!!

I think whatever the prices are in Goodison they are probably going to do a feeeze as a PR stunt when we move over hopefully

and with 53k hopefully evolving to 55k as the ground develops I hopevthere could be room for lower priced tickets
I expect there will be a loan from the bank to repay, no chance are we paying goodison prices.

You'll be higher and further back as there's no overlapping tiers. GP has some of the best views in world football due to those tiers and they will be gone sadly.

I thought that might be the case, difficult to tell without seeing the stands superimposed on each other. It may well be I will be migrating down to below the level of the hospitality seats
