New Everton Stadium

Ha ha. “Those allowing themselves to feel a bit of hope and optimism about the future, should just stop it because 11 years ago....”

It's always prudent not to get so worked up about something to the point you'll have to jump off a bridge if if doesn't happen, but this is the point of being a football fan is to get some hope and joy when and where you can. Better to have loved and lost and all that.

By the time the stadium is in place it WILL be town. The 10 streets project will extend the reach of town from its current outskirts down by Malmaison down to Bramley Moore. There is a lot of space around there that could easily be converted into shops/restaurants/bars etc.

Merseytravel would then be best served to put a bus route down Regent Road or something to service the area but most could easily walk into town, stopping off at the new bars etc on the way.
Thinking of it now. Making my way from BMD to town stopping off at every pub on the way. Used to try and do it from goodison to town in the 70s and 80s but never got past the start of Scotland road.

If I remember correctly there was only one pub on Scottie road ,the rest all had the address of the side street .
Never knew that. There were loads on Scottie. Not many now. I used to end up in one just before Scottie and netherfield road. It was set back and I can't remember the name. It's an undertakers now I think. Quite apt considering the state of some if the people in there

Throstle's Nest was a prominent one coming out of the city towards Everton Valley

That's all I ever try to do mate. It's heavy weather sometimes, but an alternative has to be put forward by me and others.

I;d suggest that those with a Pollyanna view of the stadium issue and BMD revisit or familiarise themselves with the threads from when Kirkby went tits up in 2009, and they'll realise the extent of betrayal felt back then and why no blue should ever give the benefit of the doubt to the club's owners.
Please, show mercy. We only want to live in peace and be happy. Why will you not let us be happy?

You're missing the overall point here - it's this: were Everton FC in the past involved to the degree they are now in other stadium projects? The answer being 'yes, they were'.

Some people weren't around for them.
Some genuinely cant remember the extent of our pursuit of other stadiums.
Some would rather forget that we've been here before and nothing came of it.

That's Dave back on ignore. It's not a discussion just absolute pointless buffoonery that ruins the whole thread.
