New Everton Stadium

The design plans for the new stadium seating layout have almost certainly been scrapped. Goodison does not matter anymore and the only feasible plan there is almost certainly to tear out every other row and every other seat. That reduces the attendance capacity by 75%, say to approx 13,000.
The new ground can no longer be planned for say 50 or 60,000, and will have to be remade to hold around 40,0000 capacity with seats and rows well spread out. The face of the future I suppose. They have to plan for the theory that the virus will never go away and will be a permanent risk to a certain age group.

I doubt that will be the case, if the virus is around that long likely there will be a vaccine or we'll all have had it by then.

that literally makes no sense whatsoever

Ive been trying to get to grips with it, but gave up.

so even though the stadium won’t be built for 2/3 years he wants social distance seating implemented, but at the same accepting that won’t be the case at Goodison and we’ll be still sitting next to each other anyway.

Maybe he thinks the virus will hibernate, waiting like a predator for its moment to strike

He said the capacity of Goodison would be reduced to 13 or so thousand. Which may actually happen when they first reintroduce crowds back to stadiums. But no way will they be looking at our new stadium to reduce capacity by spreading out seats.

On a plus note, we will have the only ground suitable for Premier League football, so win win.

with seats and rows well spread out.

He could be onto something

Snigger, snigger, that got a few of you going eh? Forward planning and vast expenditure has to take into account a likelihood or just a probability that a vaccine will not be found. That leaves a percentage of fans (70 and over) at high risk, and ill advised to join large gatherings. Maybe your brains have stagnated in lock down, and find it difficult to work things out. Fortunately you will not be involved in forward planning of this kind, football or otherwise. Talk to your Dads and let them explain it. :p:p
