The council will rinse for section 106 improvements, probably run into tens of millions of pounds. Hope discussions ongoing as they will take months
A friend was working on the spurs scheme for pinsent masons... Their contributions decreased a fair bit from what was initially agreed (close to 20M)... I don't remember why though.
Mate there is absolutely zero chance of our stadium not getting approval. It's now just a question of how much government money we can access for the build.
Yeah. Out of the question for the stadium I think. You are dealing with a cash strapped government and a cash strapped local authority and even if there is a chance they can get a road resurfaced as part of the scheme they will fight for it.Maybe for the infrastructure; would be amazed if you got any for the actual stadium.
there is an argument that the club have anticipated this with the redevelopment of goodison, giving back to the community in a project without being asked (but knowing that they will have to do something of this ilk anyway so may as well look like a good guy and plan for it from the off)Local authorities often want more but by "giving" it does in the future help to "get."
In the early stages of the build, Spurs gave the local authority about £8m for local schemes.
Spurs then built a community college and then built 100's of "affordable" flats 1/2 mile north of the stadium, (with I think, a % set aside for council tenants?)
Too true mate. What makes you think it will sink ???
If you knew the history of Liverpool you would be aware that the Pier Head ....
Liver Building , Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building all stand on the site of the George's Dock (filled in 1899-1900)
They have most certainly stood the test of time , much to the dismay of the RS arsonists in respect of our rock solid Headquarters .
Not leaking points hopefullyToo true mate.
And that dock and all of the others sit on an effin big 50 mile wide block of sandstone...the same stuff they dug out to build the Cathedral with and half the older parts of the city.
Those walls at BMD that keep out the river with its 30ft tides werent just plonked down on the muddy river bottom.
Nothing to worry about Re sinking.
The hard part may be stopping it leaking

Like I said...the hard part maybe stopping it leaking...a couple of decent B&Q sump pumps will sort that.
Us i think the word is..... HmmmmIf this fails to go through and get built, I think it could seriously damage Everton.
It's up to the owner to make this happen. If he doesn't, I dont fancy his chances of surviving at this club much long after.
