The new stepped area is a nice touch. That said it looks like the view to the river will have a few hundred surface level car parking spaces in between. Opportunity missed there.. bit of an avoidable eyesore and not exactly in keeping with transport sustainability

I havent a problem with that but dont consistently give dates then constantly delay it and kick the can down the road as you cant keep to the timescale.

If you do that to your boss in work you'll be called incompetent.

Quite a big change to the riverside stand but I think it's for the best in general. Looks a lot cleaner and more symmetrical now.

I mean, it can be done - take Manchester Arena (but coincidentally they're doing a refurb which will get rid of their steps...)

Somewhat worrying about the mention as to whether it will need to be reviewed by central Gov. that would spell trouble.

Not a chance in hell the Government are going to turn down £1 Billion worth of investment at a time like this.

Half the stadium will have left by half time anyway so I wouldn't worry.

I think the visual updates look miles better, and seems to be moving along albeit a little slower than we would all like - not a surprise in the slightest in the current environment.

of course, this update will give the usual naysayers a bit of ammunition to say they were right....let them have their moment.

Because soon enough they won’t be in this thread out of embarrassment at how wrong they were

Originally it was Spring then Summer THEN October now earliest December (and no doubt will then be "early 2021".

The club should have a word - the amount of revenue the club is missing out on due to delays etc as the likes of heritage england couldn't be bothered to scrutinise plans months ago is scandalous.

Can Heritage England request that or is it solely LCC's decision?

Probably food or drink outlets. Have them at a lot of newer grounds now.

I'd imagine they are having a word behind closed doors. They have to allow due process to unfold. It would be inappropriate and unseemly for the club to make public any dissent on its own part, and there is bound to be some of that. They have to allow the council process to run its course and be above the political aspect of any objections to planning.

If the build starts early in the new year I'll take that.
