New Everton Stadium

Saw a piece by the lib dem guy for Liverpool if anyone has seen it- basically saying Liverpool has been held back massively in terms of construction projects IIRC - such a historical city is getting quickly built cheap tack with a majority not even getting built and will soon be torn down.

I think this falls in line with the peoples project - hugely ambitious project which will do wonders for the city, being told it's too damaging to local histroy by people who clearly have know connection to the city and how the local residents feel.

In true politician style, he tries to ride the wave but he has been pretty vocal at every turn in opposition to the stadium. And not just this one either, including previous efforts from Everton.

Kemp is a rat who opposes everything, he holds the city back big time by doing it. We lose so many projects with cowboys like him and Nick Small who stand in the way of progress, just to appease a small minority of dissenters so he can stay on the gravy train in a safe seat.

EFC in New Stadium Delay shocker

Hopefully, having Consulted the bejabers out of it for just such a occurrence, it shouldn't be too much of a problem
tbh, not totally unexpected.

The alternatives are...
a) No £650mill jobs stimulus
b) Leave it as it is to slowly rot back into the Mersey.

Where was all the historic heritage dock angst when the sewage plant was being built??
Oh right yeah no threat to the world wide rs cult.

What a load of B/S. Keep a dock full of dirty water!!!! What historic character is there in that? If hoses or flats can be built how does that preserve apart from keeping a dock full; of dirty water? Have these clowns ever visited the site?

LCC should lodge an objection.

They won’t build houses next to the Sewerage plant. The best thing to do is put in the new ground in the way thereby putting up a barrier between the Sewerage plant and any further housing development. It’s a win/win on all levels, pp will be approved.....

LCC will have to address English Heritage's statements but ultimately they'll be batted away given the huge economic and social public benefits of the scheme.

There's no conspiracy here. The dock is statutory listed and infilling it will 100% result in a loss of its significance as it will no longer appear or function as dock.

I would very much doubt given the current economic climate that the secretary of state would call it in. But you never know.

Taking a step back, that's a reasonable take. They can't really give their support for us to infill a dock their job is to protect.

Saying it will go ahead if the socio - economic benefits outweigh it is is really them saying "no but you'll be able to"
