New Everton Stadium

Whoever the guy was who mentioned about touch line being far away. Don’t forget that the pitch dimensions can change. I imagine it can go wider if the manager wants it too.
(Remember Stoke. Changed the pitch as narrow as allowed to have delap cause more havoc)

remember Goodson is the narrowest allowed. It may be the same dimensions for visual purposes.

Seats next to the wall in normal football mode along the touch line.

That's a good picture. You can see there that they are near enough in line with the goal so all is OK. From the pictures we have, it sweeps back behind the pitch and if you have a wall beside you, it's impossible to see beyond the angle that it cuts in. Now these designers aren't stupid so they may choose to wedge the steps on the side to push people away from that line. However we have seen stadiums where they squeeze seats in regardless. You may have seen pictures of our neighbours new stand and due to the height and angle of the roof in a few seats you can't even see the goal.

The new spurs pitch is narrower than Goodison according to one source
...Anyway: Further Consultation;
do the surveys, tick the boxes, fill in the forms, dismiss Jeff from W Derby and the rs crested newt botherers,

English Heritage main point is - Does the Secretary of State agree with them that the Benefits Do Not out weight the changes made to the heritage site.
To my mind and many others you would think, well yes of course it does - especially when the only other alternative is do nothing and let it rot.

Such delays are just a cost of doing business / rebuilds / renovations in a listed site or building.
And - as in all of these old listed places, until you start stripping out...or in our case draining the dock...you don't know what you will find wrong until you do.
Then the fun will start and the cry will be heard...HOW MUCH?? jeez.

So is all the wheelchair access now pitch-side again? I hope not as that was a factor we rightly hailed in the original designs, giving them a more comfortable spec. EDIT: looks like there's a mixture of both now.

Saw this on skyscraper city....

Just for clarity, letting it rot is not the only alternative. The main argument of Heritage England is that there was already a masterplan in place as part of the Liverpool Waters development. That included residential housing in BMD, surrounding the remaining water filled dock. That is what their whole argument is based upon.

OK, didnt know that.
Who's going to pay for this housing to be built on what is essentially Peel owned land?
Peel?
Why did they offer it to Us then ?

Prem rules say pitch size must be 105x68m, the only exceptions to this are if you've got a smaller pitch to prevent clubs breaking the laws of physics.

"K.15. – Unless otherwise permitted by the Board, in League Matches the length of the pitch shall be 105 metres and its breadth 68 metres.

K.16. – The Board shall only give permission to a Club for the dimensions of its pitch to be other than as set out in Rule K.15 if it is impossible for it to comply with Rule K.15 due to the nature of the construction of its Stadium."

Ours is the standard 105x68m. Goodison is slightly shorter in length. BMD will be standard size too, obviously.

Peel never pay for anything, they'd leave it in that state for a hundred years if nobody came forward. This so called approval is an outline planning permission, no solid proposals. They're not even meant to start for about twenty odd years, and that's only if the rest of the site is developed. As you can see, Central Docks has been barely touched yet and that comes before this area gets developed. There's aren't any known proposals for there yet either besides a couple of speculative drawings. This is the only show in town and heritage bodies are more than happy to leave it the way it is, it's up to us to show them we're not having it by filling in the consultation.

Must have been updated then. It absolutely wasn't a rule when Pulis ruined any art of football.

It should be easy for Peel to demonstrate that they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to market the site for housing. How long has it been since the Liverpool Waters masterplan was drawn up? How many marketing and trade missions have been held since? I always felt that the amount of residential units in their plans was unrealistic.

From memory I think Goodison is actually one of the widest pitches in the PL.

The rule now states you must have that minimum size (unless you physically cannot due to older stadia) but I think you can have bigger. I suspect Pulis narrowed a pitch that exceeded those limits already (so did Walter Smith here) and you can still do that as long as it's done pre-season and remains for that season.

Not sure residential housing next to sewage works would of been that lucrative anyway
That's why they say in their fancy way that the Stadium will 'Anchor' the northern end of the whole development.
What they mean is the even a football stadium will be more acceptable to the flash apartments and such further down the dock than a view of the sewage works
