New Everton Stadium

I would like to think that the award winning public consultation will push this over the line.

You can't fake that kind of data unless you willingly do so. And if we have then we deserve everything we get.

You wonder now if the tier 2 covid status the city had and the piloting of schemes were all linked to this?

It's not at all looking dodgy whatsoever.

Public consultation x 2
Private deal between peel and efc
Privatly funded
Disused site revonvated into used site

What exactly on the face of it is concerning?

On the face of it, nothing.

But, if you were a Government inspector or whatever they are called, being asked to run Liverpool cos of corruption allegations, wouldnt the largest, and controversial (WHS) project on the cards attract your interest?

It's not really THAT controversial. > 90% of respondents to the consultation saw it as a good thing for the City.

The only controversy is with one specific group of special interest organisations, whose sole job it is to object to plans such as this one.

Agree. Not THAT controversial. Great consultations etc etc. But we look at it as EFC fans.

A faceless civil servant wont. He is being asked to run LCC in the face of corruption allegations. So he is going to try to find some. Where would you look?

Probably at deals that actually INVOLVE the council (in a role greater than approving a no-brainer development)

Well it may do if there were allegations of corruption attached to it.
But judging on the face of it, there isn't and the benefits continually outweigh the WHS.

Everton have gone above and beyond to work with WHS remember.

I think they will be looking at,the roadwork contracts, the constant half built before bankruptcy schemes, and a few other very dodgy contract signings, the stadium consultation has been done above and beyond with no real help or imput from the council

Yeah, again, I agree totally.

But put it another way. This isnt good news is it?

Or...
Would that civil servant see a proposal with private investment, public consultation, project partners external to the council and see it as a no brainer, quick win to approve to be the Tory party who enabled the stadium to press ahead and then look at decisions which the council are actually significantly involved in?
