New Everton Stadium

I don't buy that. I know I know this is what Dan Meis told us. I am sorry (who am I to disagree with Dan) but I disagree. The fact is we will have more revenue with a bigger capacity. The two reasons clubs expand is for more revenue and to accommodate more fans. At 52/53000 it's a moderate increase because in my opinion we'd have that demand now. Moving to a new ground attacts fans, take in the location and hopefully successful times again, is 52/53k going to be enough?

Just another thought, if we want £'x' revenue then you know what? Ticket prices will be more for 52/53k stadium than 60,000 plus. It's just simple maths.

Safe standing won't increase the capacity either btw.
Cost of stadium build and addiitonal revenue generated are not a parallel line. And once you get to about 50000 seats, the cost of every thousand goes up.
As an example, Barca are paying about 300 million euros to expand their stadium by 15000 seats.
We are getting 52000 for probably a similar amount of money

Unbelievable day, beers have just been lobbed straight in the fridge for tonight.

I've got a season ticket in Lower Gwladys Street. I make most games but there are always 1 or 2 games a season I can't make due to work, being abroad etc.

Any games which I cant make for whatever reason I'll put in the tickets thread and I won't be wanting any money for them either. Would love to help people who have never been to Goodison and never experienced the magic of the Old Lady before!

Hopefully be able to help 5-8 people over these next few years live the dream which I live every other weekend.
Proper Everton that

There certainly are some superb Evertonians on this forum.

Always been lucky enough to know a few top Toffees to help me out with ticketing issues.

Love you all. You're a credit to your club. ;)

I just wonder how long the fans will stay after the final final whistle at the Old Lady. I wish I could be there .Off to do the lottery .
I think it could go on all night mate. The history of Goodson is massive.
I remember when West Ham were leaving their ground Sky had hours of coverage after the game.
Thought it was way over the top to be honest. I mean their ground’s history compared to ours is non existent really.
Sky’s coverage should go on for days if that’s anything to go by. I doubt it though.

I think they needed to reduce the height of the stadium, didn't they? Might be wrong! Also big yes to the car park being moved
That is a big improvement, agree!

The height reduction was made within the roof structure itself. The trusses gradually got taller from North to South creating a slope that was meant to invoke the spirit of a ship's bow or a wave.

That has been value engineered out so it's all the same and that reduced the size to be under the magic number. It was only a few meters difference.

If anyone's thinking of making a compilation photo video when the time comes to say goodbye to the Old Lady might I suggest '3 times a Lady' by the Commodores as the soundtrack.

Thanks for the times that you've given me
The memories are all in my mind
And now that we've come to the end of our rainbow
There's something I must say out loud
You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
Yes, you're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
I love you
When we are together, the moments I cherish
With every beat of my heart
To touch you, to hold you, to feel you, to need you
There's nothing to keep us apart
You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
I love you.

Yes, I'm an old sentimental.

There’s 30 headlines on this Sky sports main page and guess how many out of 30 mention Everton’s new stadium.

None, Nil, Zero lol We’ve obviously upset the status quo

At least BBC still have the story up.

What you say is true but it's not as bad as the figures you have put as an example. Extending a stadium costs a lot more per seat than if you added those seats as part of the initial build.

And as we move forward, any contractor applying to work on our new Palace should be stripped naked and any reveal of allegiance to the rats displayed on their skin would be chucked in the Royal Blue Merseyside.
And if employed on some freedom of employment regulation then under no circumstances should they be allowed to do any wall work.

If we get that stadium and the only “real debt” we have to take on for it is £200m, we’ve played an absolute blinder

Add in even if the Naming Rights deal is paying towards the stadium - it will still be considered revenue coming into the club therefore if FFP is still knocking about we will still have the benefits of the naming rights giving us more room to spend money should the owners be willing of course.
