New Everton Stadium

I will say this: I'm going to try and get to a game or two at Goodison before it closes. I'm not in the least bit arsed about going to BMD. I can wait to see them in fill in the blank American stadium on a summer tour.

The absurdity of Big 'Merica idolizing Goodison from the telly having never stepped foot on County Rd and failing to understand how massive this stadium move is going to be for the locals and the waterfront is cheering me up.

Talk to us after you've had a slash in the Gwladys bogs enjoying the atmospheric assault of the sounds of lids sniffing in the stalls and the smells of stale piss troughs and rollie smoke.
Also if the bogs in the new stadium aren't like this I will be very disappointed in Meis and send him an angry tweet.

He's deffo the type to have wanted slanted loos.

Yeah I really do follow this but I just wonder at what cost. I think the soul of clubs like Arsenal and West Ham is fundamentally different now and I'm not sure for the better.

The difference between our proposed stadium and the 2 you mentioned, is design. I always felt like Arsenal's new ground, while impressive in its size, was built solely as a way of maximising attendance. They tried to build a lesser quality Wembley, a giant soulless bowl that could sell insanely priced tickets to London fans. Other than red seats, it doesn't say Arsenal to me. West Hams is a literal converted athletics stadium that still has temporary seating installed and has no way of combating the obvious problems the running track poses.

Ours has been designed to try and capture the atmosphere. More seats, yes, of course, it would be mental to not try and upgrade attendance, but that wasn't the sole purpose, as is frequemtly questioned here by the so called unambitious 53,000 capacity.

Some new stadiums still have atmosphere, if they have the right design. I think the scale of the new ground will surprise some people when they finally take their seat, because honestly, it's hard to show that in pictures and graphics.

I genuinely think we've gone about it in the right way, even if there are things I've doubted or questioned myself.

I certainly hope you're right but I just have doubts.
