New Everton Stadium

What a load of nonsense about changing the design for increased capacity now the City will probably lose UNESCO status.

it's not a case of just slapping on a few extra courses of blockwork all around. It's a substantial redesign that would need to go before planning again, resulting in further delays. It's not happening.

Of course, it should probably have been designed bigger from the off. To hell with UNESCO, English Heritage and the Victorian society.

It should probably have had a closing roof to make it more suitable for events/concerts.

It's still a beautiful looking stadium that will be the envy of many. Get it built.

It's nice enough but the fans are miles back behind the goals. Not for me.
If the upper tier was continued down to ground level at a slightly shallower rake the distance behind the goals would be normal. The result would be 2 large end slightly curved single tier stands, with overlapping tiers for side stands. The Closing roof would enable better multi-use.

It’s ironic that Liverpool holds world heritage status even though the city centre is a poverty-stricken dump, and that status is only in question because of potential regeneration.

It should be ignored completely and shouldn’t be allowed to stand in the way of progress.

Wouldn’t say the city centre was a dump given it’s had vast amounts spent on it with L1 etx

City centre is a poverty stricken dump....? You weren't around 30 yrs ago then?

This fish licence thing must surely hold everything else up?

I doubt we can finalise a deal with Peel until the green light is given. Taking their sweet time.
