New Everton Stadium

This may be true, but we are now able to take much more advantage of technological advancements now. We can have better connectivity, better materials, better design protocols. Ability to take full advantage of potential for rail seating, more so than other recently built stadiums.

I know that there is an argument that says if you keep delaying, then you'll always have better stuff available, and that you have to commit to buying at some point....... but....... it makes me feel better.

I was gutted at losing out on KD. It was spectacular, at the time. I personally feel now though that BMD will be better than what KD could ever have been.

It's true that stadium design continues to evolve but I'm not sure that we are necessarily seeing any benefit for those advances. The Kings Dock was similar to the Amsterdam Arena. That stadium is in many ways still a more advanced design than BMD, which in truth is fairly basic internally. Kings Dock stadium was slightly larger and could've been retrofitted with rail seats in its lower tier, had a closing roof (with potential for moving pitch) and was in a far superior location in terms of public transport and local amenities. It was also going to cost us just £30m (potentially rising to £60+m), because it included a development partner and several large value enabling projects.

Massive missed opportunity

One Iwobi with change.

Yes, viewed that way makes it even more depressing that we missed that opportunity at Kings Dock and all those years of increased income and prestige. Conversely, you could also say BMD might be costing us an Iwobi per year for the next 10-20yrs depending on how the funding model works and how generous Mr Usmanov turns out to be.

Can you expand on this, what’s BMD not got that makes it basic over whatever KD was proposed to have?
