New Everton Stadium

True. I wonder if this means that Liverpool has become bigger by a couple of acres?

Oh yeah, the entire waterfront is on reclaimed land.
The pool after which Liverpool is named doesn't even exist anymore. Water Street used to be so named as it ran to the waterfront. Now it has the strand, and everything beyond it between it and the water.
I'll see if I can find the old map.

For people who are unfamiliar with Liverpool, and the fact it had a castle, the castle on the map of Lerpol is where the Victoria monument is now, near the courts.

There is a really old episode of that Time Team show with that guy who played Baldrick and it goes right into the history of how Liverpool came to be and the dock area, might be on youtube.

Its all so incredibly interesting.

If you're into that kind of thing of course......
I am, being a bit of a geek.

Just the stuff about the tunnels that still run to the Merseyside from the old castle. The hidden rivers etc. All great.

Yeah it's great stuff, I live down in Sussex these days and there is loads of cool Roman stuff round here, they are still finding things all the time.

Great watch, thanks for posting.
I was really happy to hear that they were conserving the BMD structure during construction.
It's important for the city that the port area develops and changes with the times but it's also important that what can, should be documented, recorded and preserved. I think Everton have done a very good job of this.
I was also waiting for them to tie in the toffees when talking about sweets and confections! Bloody hell Baldrick
