New Everton Stadium

I suspect you're referring to my post, so it's probably best I clarify bits. Compared to Goodison's facilities, it will be a major step up so that is a positive.

There'll be more space on the concourses for bars and food outlets; there'll be more flexibility in terms of hospitality both in size, variety and quantity.

But, it's unlikely to be anywhere near NWHL in terms of the quality and quantity of facilities for the general fan base, let alone those paying for hospitality.

We're unlikely to even be talking about the quality of the Emirates and perhaps, sadly, even the new stand which that shower have built.

People can believe this or not, it's up to them, but this comes from a good few sources who've said the same thing - costing is going on the location and prep.

If you're over 6ft 2" in height or a bigger frame, it's going to be tight too, which some may favour, but we'll see. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to BMD.

Yet, we need to be realistic in terms of what we're getting for the price when you consider how the location (and its costs) will impact on the final product.

It will look brilliant once it's built and in a super location, but the fixture and fittings really aren't going to match it; still, that doesn't mean it won't be great.

On another note, I think I'll definitely be aiming to sit behind a goal where the atmosphere will be best.

My only argument against this would be... aren't the current hospitality suites at goodison (the top tier) the same level as Anfield? Just capacity?

What do you mean by the tight fit for people at a certain height etc?

Amazing how little Half a Billion gets these days!

But BMD much needed and we'll be blinded by the quality on the pitch, rather than any MFI fittings around the stadium!?

*for the young uns, MFI was a low to mid range furniture and furnishings shop that went bust?

Just had a look at the plans on the link posted earlier:

Interesting things I noticed:

- The concourse for the standard seating is shared all the way round (with exception of the upper stand west). It's absolutely massively so I can see plenty of announcements food and drink coming up as it approaches completion.

- The home dressing room is a huge circle similar to cities, and the away is basically a box room. (there's also another 2 away dressing rooms maybe for mini tournaments etc).

- The tv gantry will be on the west stand

- In the meeting and minutes, there's a section with Peel on signal lights for boats... Everton have demanded that they DO NOT use Green and Red - and instead use Blue and White. (Page 14, Point 4.1)

We might get away with that as there is no waterway on site, more an enclosed canal. If it was a proper waterway I'd imagine we'd have to adhere to maritime law which is green/red.

You don't have to speculate how good or bad the finish and the materials of the new stadium are going to be. The information is already available in the planning application.
It will answer any conceivable question you may have about the construction, materials, quality, design and methodology for the build.

For example, the make and colour of the bricks used for the exterior to the type of litter bins being used.

The link. http://northgate.liverpool.gov.uk/D...rview.aspx?type=MVMPRD_DC_PLANAPP&key=1166800

I've been through every section, so if there is something you want help finding, just ask.
Is there info in there about how steep each stand is going to be? In degrees?

Cheers.

From what I was told, it'll be a limited capacity (somebody mentioned twelve boxes in total) and the spectrum of hospitality facilities may not be as wide.

Now this may be due to there being a projected limited take-up of these facilities - there's usually a box or two empty at GP - yet again it's how people see it.

In terms of those above six foot something, they said legroom will be tight. Now, many of us are use to Goodison 'closeness' so may not be an issue.

I'm 5'10" so leg room will be fine for me. I'm more concerned about width. Am I right in thinking each seat is individual, not connected to the one next to it? Hope so.

The key to modern capacities and wether it will be big enough always ends up at the same position... will the team be successful or not.. if it isn’t... it won’t be filled but if it is then it might need to be bigger... at this present time the capacity might be a little too big.. I can’t see it being full for every single game played there once the novelty wears off...

It's a good job nobody's arsed what you think then isn't it.

Not exactly. IMO anyway. Success will bring in more and more fans. But what you got to look at is Goodison Park now. Old ground, minimal modern facilities, lots of obstructed views. Sold out every week with a waiting list. And you think (like a fair few out there) that 52000 might not be filled every game?

Factor in a brand new stadium and its location, I think not only will this be sold out every week but the demand will be more. Maybe there is scope to increase should we return to being successful. Maybe maybe not.

But all of the clubs that have gone to new stadiums all the clubs that have build upwards have had the full stadiums or near full. The 'Sunderland' factor well sadly like Bolton they're not in top flight. But if they were they'd be filling their grounds as they did at the start. Both Tottenham and Arsenal and West Ham for that matter went from under our GP capacity to 60,000 plus. Of course they're London based but we're a big club. Sadly the club have always acted too cautiously.

But seriously I don't get how people can say we won't fill it. We'd fill it and another 10,000.
