New Everton Stadium

It would, but only by a few yards. I've always liked that final addition to Highbury, the double decker, with the big overhang. Imagine that being wrapped around all 4 sides, with the rich blurts sat in boxes above. I'd be more than happy with something along those lines.

What people are essential asking for is for the lower tier to be made shallower so it can ‘underlap’ the upper tier. If anything, doing this would make it less intimidating, although it would allow additional rows. It wouldn’t allow the upper tier to be brought closer to the pitch.

?

Here's me looking through my blue tinted specs being romantic about intimidating Goodison can be, thinking that Goodison has 3 sides of double decker stands and was the first to have 4.

People seem to be getting their knickers in a twist about the stadium quality.

1. According to Meis, the more basic features refer to frills like cheese rooms and less corporate areas etc. The concourses will be exposed concrete structures like all new stadiums.

2. The brickwork will not be fake. It will be assembled on panels off site and lifted into place. The bricks will be real and reflect the older rustic brick in the docks area - rather than the smooth orange ones at Anfield.

3. The upper tiers will be as close to the action as is possible based on the regulations. Based on the sections, it will be similar to Tottenham’s upper tier.

Point 1: Understand that, from the survey we did I can't see anything on the cheap (such as the executive seating area which Juve have where you're basically sitting on a couch) . Also, i hope the standard concourse isn't exposed cinder blocks like pretty much every ground - be nice to have a unique decor!

2. Ah ok, the mock ups they had on site didn't look too convincing, looked like the car park on victoria street and the new one by the arena (How did that get planning permission by the way? it's on the river front) although ours is essentially brick and theirs is some unusually styled cladding. What I mean is it looks like a steel cage with some thin bricks put sparingly in front of it.

I thought it would be worth looking back at some of the early supposition from the club. The original
layout presented by Meis at St Lukes was based on 60,000 and was by footprint virtually the same size as NWHL but ends and corners different.

The plans have changed from then here and there the significant change is the capacity at the start.

Below it's inferring the capacity can go up it mentions future-proofing for safe standing. The club haven't actually said how it could go up. I'd say the inference is based on safe standing being more than 1:1.

Here's hoping there may be increases during the final leg of construction like NWHL.

Everton propose 52,000 Bramley-Moore capacity with potential to rise to 62,000

“Our design and engineering approach will give us the potential to expand in the future. This will be done if and when we are at a stage where it is financially viable and fits with our key principles.”

“We believe that our approach is the right one because it is commercially and financially sustainable and will mean that, in the long term, we will be able to increase the capacity should there be a demand and requirement to do so,” Chong added.

New Everton stadium to 'rise from Bramley Moore Dock'

"The club will consider increasing the capacity to 62,000 if it regularly fills the ground."

The original planning had the lower seats at between 25 and 32 degrees (to comply with safe standing regulations) and the upper tiers at the maximum allowed 33 degrees.
There have been no changes mentioned in the revised/latest planning application so that should remain the same.
Any idea how that compares with the stadium Juventus have built?

I can’t find any info anywhere about how steep their stands are.

I’d love ours to be a similar gradient to theirs.

Really? If I'm wrong fair enough. Can you post the link?

BMD hasn't been connected to Nelson Dock for years, it's why the water was literally different colours.

I was going to say at the time I thought it would be connected, but more likely it is just for show and Nelson's levels are maintained through Salisbury Dock.

Wont the Nelson Dock inevitably be expanded into by the club over time? I cant imagine Everton not "stretching" out that way and across the road.
