New Everton Stadium

You miss my point (disagree with it by all means). My argument is that it is impossible for us to challenge again until we have a stadium fit for purpose at either a new location or at L4 4EL.
Well you responded to my initial post. What did you find wrong with it?

I'm so concerned with our on field situation at the moment I haven't looked in here for weeks.
Priority needs to be the on field success for me before the stadium.

As has been pointed out by others, the day of the retail park looks over. We have one at Aintree and one at Speke and that might well be enough. Moshiri taking over changes the game, I think. Let's just give it a year or so and see what happens. I am starting to warm to Edge Lane. There is a railway line at the back and a station could be built to shuttle fans back and forth every few minutes from Lime Street on a match day, especially as there is new investment in the signalling system there.
I'm not saying it's not a great idea for as you correctly mention there's both good road links and an active railway line running close by.

In fact I would support the project. What I'm saying is that from what I know, there are already concrete plans in place for the development.

These plans have been slowly maturing over a long period of time and as a result I would be surprised if they were halted or significantly amended.

I disagree with it, as you disagree with mine. I don't see any football club in the second decade of the 21st century spending a packet on players whilst the stadium goes to wrack and ruin. I suppose it's not impossible, but more likely is that Moshiri ensures that there is a growth of income generated on the back of better infrastructure which encourages the club to splash the cash a bit more, buy better players, get a better manager. Only time will tell, I guess. I think he's here to make money by EFC making money. He's not after all a locally born Evertonian who made became a billionaire is he?

I would personally be amazed if a huge retail park was built at Edge Lane, despite any concrete plans over the last decade and a half. One of us will be right and one of us will be wrong. Time will tell, as always.

....and it's at the end of a major motorway.

Joe Anderson has apparently said on the radio tonight that Walton Hall Park is a no go

From the echo:

Question: If elected Mayor, will you stop all planned development, whether it be a stadium, shops, houses or anything else on Walton Hall Park? My vote depends on this issue

Joe Anderson

"Everton not been able to come up with proposals and therefore nothing is happening with Walton Hall Park
