There is a very good chance that with the stadium updates every bloody two weeks some massive financier has seen the project and really likes it and decided to help fund it

maybe there are already a bunch of people in the background willing to help finance the project and get their own slice of the advertising pie because they know its going to be a state of the art stadium of the seafront and it will be near the city centre

i mean there must be loads of massive companies who would love to be able to have a stadium named after their company and would be willing to pay big bucks to do so

The stumbling block in the past was whether we would get planning permission to do the stadium but now its been approved and construction is underway its a whole different kettle of fish

for me, there’s no doubt the stadium gets built.

It’s just a question of how good the financials are to allow that to happen.

But, I will say globally there are some economic tests and real uncertainty ahead, some of which will filter down to Elite level football.

I think that is a fair to point that out. It's another thing to say the stadium is off. Who knows what's through on the other side? A shake of up things might benefit us. If, 30 years ago, you'd have said that the fall of the Berlin Wall was going to lead to Chelsea becoming Champions of Europe, you'd have got some funny looks.

The very location of BMD on the river is a huge selling point. Imagine a multinational company's name in 30 foot letters being on every photo and image of the river front. Imagine the same letters lit up of a night. Iconic is a word often overused. Not in this case.
