New Everton Stadium

We’ve been mainly lousy for 30 years.

We’ve also needed a new stadium for that long.

I grew up with Goodison but it is past time to let it go.

Our struggles this year are nothing to do with BMD. We’ve invested far more on the team than on the ground move since Moshiri arrived. He tried your plan A TT. He messed it up.

If we go down it is because we bought utter dross for big fees on big wages and when we came up against FFP restrictions we could not sell the dross. The stadium spend did not touch FFP this year as once we had planning it was excluded.

We might well go down this year. That might even leave BMD a half-built monument to failure as some fear but if so BMD will not be the cause of that failure, merely a victim of it.

Even when/if the stadium gets completed what difference will it make? We'll still be run by utter morons and a shiny new ground won't change that. Its all just cosmetics. Us having a state of art stadium on the docks when we're run by such idiots is like sprinkling glitter over a turd and pretending that it doesn't stink and isn't a turd anymore!

It’ll finally make Everton attractive for a multi-billionaire to buy.

In theory sure, but if the morons that are currently running the club continue to drive us into the ground then said multi-billionaire will be buying a mediocre championship club. Worrying about the new stadium while we sleepwalk towards a potential Sunderland type scenario is like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned around him!

We've won nothing for nearly 30 years

While playing AT GOODISON.....christ

I'm not sure the correlation means anything..... especially when you consider that in that same period GOODISON has also pretty much had the least spent on it of practically all stadia in the entire Prem and Football League decending from the best stadium in the country to an antique in the process. The legacy of the club's forefathers right up to Moores was that Goodison required easily the least spent to be fully compliant with the Taylor report and yield a 40k capacity. We had been run on a laissez faire then bargain basement basis for decades before Moshiri...... and the club simply did the bare minimum, chasing hair brained stadium for nothing schemes to avoid addressing the issues. The billionaire accountant (anyone else ever heard of billionaire accountants?), resplendent in his easy-come easy-go Russian cash then just chucked cash at a club like some kind of absent landlord ticking boxes. In the meantime he's converted some of that debt into new equity. BMD is another box ticker.... it seems to have it all.... but we're yet to see the financial model.

Ambition is shown by building a competitive team, not by bricks and mortar. Our ambition has been non existent in recent years because they have refused repeatedly to overhaul the abject squad. Now we are in a position where all our past mistakes have caught up with us.

You don't focus on a stadium when you are failing on the pitch, unless you don't care enough about winning.
We have spent $500M on the squad in the last few years. How can you come to the conclusion that is not showing any ambition ?

Oh it has to be both. The problem is that te stadium was utterly ignored file 30 odd years and has fallen into disrepair
